Turbo G35 Coupe
#16
I would love to have a turbo Z, but living in California.... yeah, I'd rather not have to worry about cops. If you're going FI on the VQ35, I'd definitely build up the rods and pistons. Better to be safe than sorry... and from the sounds of it, there are a lot of very sorry people out there.

Turbo G35s suck.
Similar setup to what he had with his BMW with a thicker metal headgasket dropping the compression by about 1.5, jwt clutch/ltw flywheel, AAM oil spacer, AAm fuel return, kinetix 5 plenum, greddy sp2 exhaut strait throuh, Utec..

Sold it and new owner ended up putting it sleep. RIP

I had a g35 6MT and saved almost 10k to buy the APS TT kit for the G, then lost it all in AC, thus, I am an evo owner!!! If you want to go FI with the G, def. go APS man! Wether it be single or twin, go APS! www.g35driver.com lots of info on there!

Thats what I got out of it too. I guess it was better to lose it there than finally get the car built and blow it up, which is what it sounds like may happen. But I had not looked at the APS kit yet, I was mainly looking at the greddy.

yeah, AC means Atlantic City, some craptacular place -.- hahaha, anyway, if i had to do it again, i'd still stick with the G and go FI, it would be such a rare sight to see, but don't get me wrong. I love my evo to death!

As far as the RB26, I had looked into doing an RBG35 maybe a year and half ago. Everyone said the same thing, that the motor is too long to fit, and it would require moving the firewall back a few inches. I wasn't willing to hack up a perfectly good car.
Now if you got a salvage G, with flood damage or something on the cheap, that might be a better idea. Either way it was too much work and I wasn't willing to invest the time and money into it. I figured it would be a cool idea, along the lines of a 2JZ-GTE swap into an IS300.
