why waste your time with that guy. he's obviously an idiot!

if a new 335i beat any sub 10sec evo's, it would have been all over youtube. i would let him talk smack and have a good laugh!

There are a handful of 335i owners out there with a god complex who think their cars can beat aything on the road...anything! Just visit e90.com and you'll understand what I'm talking about. There are dozens of youtube vidds showing 335s destroying modified Evos, even from a dig...

340-350whp Procede 335s are in the low 13s at 106-109mph, light years away from 11's. The fastest 335 on the planet is a Procede with downpipes and 265 DRs with a best 12.56 @ 108 mph. Very impressive.

I had a 335i chase me down while I was going to the grocery store in Cinco Ranch (West Houston, stuck up/new money neighborhood) I saw blue Zenons coming up fast and I knew it was a leg humper M3 or something...we got into it and I couldnt shake him. We got after it at a light and I could 'barely' walk him ...he was impressed w/ my car telling me he usually makes mince meat out of Houston Evo's...He was young, aware dude...I didnt ask him if he took procede treatments to 'keep it up'....if he wasnt rollin procede then stock those things are beasts....Peak Tq kicks in at 1,400 rpms and stays around till redline...look at a Vishnu dyno chart...on light to light racing torque wins and those cars are full of torque to overcome the weight! Just 'weight' till the lighter, cheaper, better looking 1 series hits the lots.

Typical 335i owner's attitude toward Evos

300whp Evos are faster than Procede 335s by a full second and 5-7mph...I can imagine the damage that a 500whp beast like yours could inflict to a 335.

i used to sell bmws and always swore i wouldn't buy one because of the ****** that buy them. this clown sounds like one also. my dealership also had audi, porsche, hummer, landrover, maserati etc and the most stuck up, little yuppie idiot jerkoff customers by far were the BMW buyers. i have had porsche guys who clearly knew way more about the cars than me, be so cool during the whole deal and then i would always have some newbie lawyer or doctor in his first year of practice grind on me over 500 bucks and then have to finance and be a straight up ****** about the whole thing. crazy. i did cave though and bought a 1995 e34 540i and i have to say even for an older car it is great. i use it for my daily and i feel like a road king in it! Long story short though, 335's are not Evos and cannot run like evos... yet. and most bmw drivers are *******. no offence M3THIS. Oh yeah, i drive one so i can say that!

Sergio,

On my last 2 trips to SIR I have seen some pathetic times from some Evo8 and Evo 9 also, but this is a consistent, regular, steady, perpetual and/or perennial pattern. I am talking about tuned Evos 9 with TB, MBC, and air filter and brand new aftermarket clutch still mid 13's. These sare people that I personally know plus they are on this forum.

There are all kinds of variety in the lord's garden(bad drivers, good drivers, good track, bad track, cold weather, hot weather, altitude, sea level, )if you know what I mean. When I took my stock BMW and ran what I ran I was very impressed.
I am still pulling cars lengths on STI's with Cobb access ports,3"TB,air filters. There is always two sides of the history.

Sergio, remember the statistics only 2 Evos ever to break into the 13's stock at SIR (one of them a Evo 9 RS with a experience rider), then I take my stock 335i with 400 miles on the odometer and I blow any Evo records ever in Tucson, just like that. Remember, first time at the track with the 335i, no rear LSD and auto and I trappped higher and ran quicker...uhmmm... what a coincidence...

And what about those GTO(LS2) that you always mentioned running 12's somewhere else stock?, well certainly not here in Tucson, I cleanly pull an average of .5sec on those 400hp cars, not a history but real facts.

If there is anyone that would like to prove me wrong here in Tucson go ahead, I will pay for your gas and your track ticket, please prove me wrong, just beat me on your stock Evo and I will run you on my stock 335i, it does not get any simpler than that right?. Please pass the word, I am sick of the smack talk.

Back to the original subject(topic), I repeat that the owner of that 335i owner talking about 8 sec car is letting his community down and off course himself as well.

Just my .2c

Carlos,

The only think that sickens me about 335s is the attitude from some owners and the proliferation of videos on e90 showing 335 destroying Evos, Z06s, Porsche Carrera S, Vipers, etc... and the misconception that people are getting with the whole Procede thing: awesome whp/tq gains and very poor results at the track: .3 sec and 3 mph average gains. Procede is not god.

You're right about your stock 335 being faster at SIR when compared to stock Evos, but this is an isolated issue due to SIR's track characteristic and mainly because 335s ECU auto adjusts for altitude, in your case 2 psi which clearly makes a difference. You forgot to mention it. Run a 335 and an Evo (both stock) at sea level and the Evo will always have an edge over the BMW. Please check the stats in C&D, MT and R&T. The Evo has always a .2-.3 ET advantage with similar TS.

But I wasn't talking about stock 335s or Evos on my previous posts. Throw a Procede in a 335 and the average bolt-ons (catback and tune) on any Evo and the BMW will be shredded to pieces at the track. And you know it. My point is, the 335 is a terrific car for $40k: seriously fast (specially passing performance,) comfortable, superb fit & finish, great handling and looks, but under no circumstances is on supercar league. For god sakes, this car can barely break into the 12's with 340whp and 380tq!! You said that is still too soon to make any assumptions about the car's potential and I can give you that, but it's been almost one year since BMW started selling the 335 and the improvements have been minimal. I remember a thread on e90 about how long will it take to see 11's on a regular base and most of 335 owners thought that it would take 3 to 6 months to do so. Well, it's been 3 months and the world's fastest 335 continues to hold a 12.56 @108 time slip which by the way was done with DRs instead of regular tires. I'm not impressed at all, but I can understand your point of view since you drive a 335i. If I had one I would also try to sweep into my backyard... you know what I mean.

Saludos Carlitos.

, like i said in my last post , itest drove a 335 and not the least bit impressed and we are also forgetting one major trait of an evo ,HANDILING! no way after my experience with a drive of the 335 can it match in that catagory. and a automatic 335 going down the quarter, well anybody can hold the petal down and go.
