Evo to C6?

Evo to C6?
Hi guys,
I think it's time to change my car. The problem is that the Evo X is not what I expected.
I'm considering an used Viper V10 or Corvette C6 Z06 or a brand new C6 base model.
Just one thing scary me... the chevrolet and dodge durability and mechanical problems.
I owned a chevrolet Camaro an it gave me many mechanical problems and the Evo NONE.
What do you guys think?

I have a friend with an 07' C6 Vette looking to get rid of it. It is silver with all the options including gunmetal rims. He keeps it in the garage and rarely drives it. He put a lot of money down and is willing to sell the car for what he owes.
U will not find a better deal or nicer used vette.

I went from an evo to a c6z51 and loved it...the two cars are so different though and its hard to describe it...they just are...performance wise my evo was faster but my evo was also a headache...the vette I tracked every week (drag racing or autox) and never skipped a beat...I got a slight misfire, dropped it off at the dealer (it was modded to with header, intake and computer) and they replaced a plug wire all under warrantee and I had a rentacar for the day...it was a nice change from owning the evo where anytime there was an issue I had to try and fix it...go drive them and see what you think, they are certainly not for everyone...i was all about awd but i definitely got to see the benefits of rwd while racing the car this summer...two different styles of driving...

well my evo was trapping 122 last time i was at the track with it before i upped nitrous and added nitromethane...car would have likely trapped nearly 130 on the setup before I got rid of the evo...whereas the c6 with just an intake was doing 12.5s at 115...but man does the vette feel good up top, so dam stable...it really shines in that category but it also handles very well around town...its just not the same as a coilovered evo...the vette had some more body roll and took a lot of throttle control compared to the evo...i didn't like the vette when i first got it but it was solely because i couldn't drive it, after 3 autox i was back to the same old top finishes in my class...just took some getting used to...you definitely get a lot more comments and looks from people in the vette and i noticed that i got less attention from cops...mine was velocity yellow and i didn't get a single ticket in it where as my evo was apex silver and i got pulled over all the time...

how about an '08 vette with the z51 package. there are dealers out there selling them close to invoice making one attainable for about $45k. also, with about $3k in mods, the ls3 is putting out over 500hp at the wheels. lg motorsports dyno'd one with cams and intake, full exhaust and no cats without a re-flash and it put down 508 at the wheels.
