The S14 chassis is around 2800-2850Lbs, I don't know where people are getting 2600Lbs unless the car has been lightened and I missed that in the thread. That setup is around 310-345whp pump gas (depending on the boost). So it shouldn't be taken lightly, but it does spool slower than a stock turbo IX. I think a IX would need the regular bolt ons, tune, and cams and a IX with those mods should see 350-365whp on pump gas. I am a big believer in power/weight but I am also a believer in power under the curve and I think the IX with those mods has a better curve. I think the S14 may start to pull eventually, but it may be to late. So to sum things up I think it would be a driver's race between a gt2871 sr20 S14 and a bolt on/tune/cam IX from a roll. From a dig, it should be all IX, even if the S14 is on DRs.

2600 lbs = probably a stripped S13 and manual.
my S14 Zenki w/ auto is about the high 2700 lbs.
2800 lbs = probably Kouki S14 since it has more luxury items in the car

The 2871r is not a disco potato.. and mitdrx is right.. there are some 2871r's that produce upwards of 410hp.. my friend has S13 SR w/ 264 cams, intake, .86 2871 and other supporting mods and it put down 387 to the wheels on 18.5 psi.. I believe it would be a decent race from a dig if both owners are equal drivers. just for the info my S14 w/ SR weighed in at 2720.. when it was auto with the KA it weighed in at 2890
