335i traps 111mph/runs 12.7 with just a chip

## Correction, it is not a chip but a piggyback/ecu module##

I must say I was in shock when I picked my timeslips last night at Southwestern International Raceway, Tucson(3100ft.)

Literally for years I raced my Evos at SIR and my best trap speed was a 110.5 on the Evo 8 MR. Last night I ran several 110s(110.69).

To better understand my comparisson, it took my Evo 8 MR the following mods to trap 110:

262/264 HKS Cams, 3"o2 housing, full 3"TB,cai,LICP,UICP,upgraded BOV, header, methanol,MBC,custom road tune and race gas,Exedy Twin Disc clutch, in top of that I had a sustancial weight reduction of about 100lbs(coilovers, mini battery, spare tire removed, floor jack removed, crash beam removed, etc)

I took my 335i to the track with no more than the floor mats removed ,a piggy back and 275 tires in the back and I blasted a few 110 plus mph traps.

My Evo 9 use to trap 107max with 91oct and my Evo 8 MR 108mph on 91oct. I am not saying this car is better than the other one but since I purchased and test drove this car I always maintained that the stock BMW felt as fast or faster than the Evos.

Here I am a few months later comparing the times at the same track. I honestly think the 135i will be the best competitor to the Evos. I do not want to give the perception that I am trying to say that one car is better than the other but I want to give you the fair data so that you make your own conclusion.

my .2c

nice time....

but you cant compare that bmw with "just a chip" to the evo...

with less money than u spent on the chip i was trapping 116 and running 11's.

now with my clutch and fmic added i've trapped 120 and should be trapping 122-123 now.

Cheers!

Thanks! ^^ So true. I paid a bunch for just that chip/piggy back but I guess that is the price that you pay initially when a new car is released and the mods are fairly new. Prices are coming down on the BMW aftermarket world so right now there are not comparable. I also spent a bunch on the Evo doing the cams, the tuning, the methanol, the turboback and all that.

The 11's that people are running is somewhere in the East side on cold weather. Here in Tucson with those mods you will be lucky to run mid 12s and trap 110. The reason why I decided to post the times is because I tested the cars at the same track many many times and I thought it was a very fair comparisson.

I am running the stock exhaust with 4 cats, 2 big heavy mufflers and a middle big 30pound resonator. The party just started for my car but I am in a friendly way showing you guys the results.

Speaking of Evos, we are contemplating getting a Evo 9 again, we miss it.

Will yea aren't the Vishnu ECU upgrades like $1200.

The cars with your mods in your 8 are trapping anywhere from 110-114 MPH here on 93 OCT.

I was about to run a AA chipped, and CBE 335i coupe. But the kid backed down.

The times that the 335i's are running/power are very impressive and theres no LSD also.

I might get a 335 in the future but I'm happy with my IX for now.

Although the 335i's are pretty impressive. But remember how quick the IX's are with just TBE, MBC, tune, and filter they are able to break into 11s.

BTW Walked U on E90fanatics or E90post has a beast of a 335.

^^Thanks.. I couldn't ask for more. At this altitude and not even having a LSD I wasn't hoping for more than 108mph fortunately the car responded well considering that the next serious competitor was a Cobra s/c with DR, exhaust and other mods running a 13.5@106

I just ordered my V2.0 as well. It is back ordered for one month(they have 250 orders already) but I am in no rush. I would like to sit and watch what the people can do with the Procede V2.0.

I could not pull away from a 335i a few months back, we ran twice on the street and he was next to me the entire time each time. Im 300whp (ish) TR340 works HFC and 93 flash. Driver was reaalllll confident he could beat me and was surprised that I was the first Evo he ever ran that he didnt punk. I was like wow....unreal. Don't know if he was Vishnu'd or not. I have never ran my car at the track either. 135i is on alot of peoples 'to do lists' next year
