Daily driver <$9,000 ?

What do you guys think would be the best DD for less then 9k?

I'm currently sporting a 92 civic CX, and the road noise / lack of power (58hp!) are really getting to me.

I was considering getting a 99/00' Si , but then don't know if I want to stress about it getting stolen every night.

Had a 93 dodge stealth, that was good but not so practical (not so good gas mileage, not so reliable)

I just want a decent ride and something that I can actually have a phone conversation while driving in. No trucks!

What are you guys sporting for dds ?

I don't know about the VW for DD. They can be expensive to repair. For comfort/gas mileage/reliable, you can't beat toyota... they're just boring as hell.

vw are nice cars, enjoyable to drive, and nice interiors. with nine grand you wont have a problem them, if you were spending 3 grand then you might want to factor in repairs. I had a 96 gti that I paid 4 grand for, little things went out like brake master cylinder but over all it was a nice car. but buy a newer golf or jetta or somethin

Yea, thats what i was going to buy - but now that the time has come i'm looking for some input. I REALLY don't want to sit and stress about both of my cars being stolen every night / vandalized.

toyotas are blah, at least hondas have some kick to them.

VW's are boring cars in my opinion

and a DSM is /lol talk about one of the worst daily drivers in history , owned one!

Are you handy when it comes to cars? as in able to swap a motor into your current ride? Heck, I dd a VX Civic hb with a Z6 in it. Very fun car for <$2k!

Drop in a better motor and work with what you've got. Save more $$$ for later...

Integra GS-R, I get 32 mpg on the highway and its a 95! Its peppy enough to still be fun, and its inexpensive to maintain.
