It's not hard to get to this point and I am not impressed. Now watch how hard it will be for the car to get into the 11s and also be reliable. BMW is really crappy in reliability and I know because I owned BMW before and they stink. Once again. I am not that Impressed. I have done just 3 modds to my friends 06 STI for $500 and we ran 12.2 plus we didn't use race gas.

according to Shiv see below, man 2.0 sixty foot on drag radials? Seems like an 11 second run easy

12.399 @ 116.8mph

2006 6MT Coupe with 24,500 miles

Mods:
98 octane
Exhaust
Prototype intake
LSD
Rota wheels/BFG drag radials at 27psi
PROcede running standard v2.0.2 map

*Stock downpipes, stock intercooler, stock bypass valves, stock clutch, etc,.

Sacramento Raceway
reaction: 1.111
I1: 2.057 <-- My mom could have launched better
I2: 5.427
I3: 8.136
MPH (I3): 92.929
I4: 10.445

ET: 12.399
MPH: 116.814

Yes, it was videotaped

My 4th ever trip to the dragstrip. 4hrs of waiting. Several seconds of driving in a straight line. Exciting?

I don't really see 11 seconds, even with a better launch. 335i is just not a drag car.

I'm sure it can hit an 11 with better launch and better shifting, maybe shiv will let me borrow it for some test runs There were some AMG's here in Vegas track the other week running low 12's and looked/sounded bone stock.. one was even a wagon, I know completely different car but I really think the 335 has some potential to be pretty fast at the drag strip

Very true. It will cost an arm and a leg to get it there and then it will suck in reliability and other things also. Nice car for people who like it.

What do you mean turbo? Upgraded turbos? This one is stock turbos. I believe the whp when this particular car was stock was between 275-285whp and now it is at SAE corrected 398whp. So a gain of 113 to 123whp with those mods and 98 octane gas. Who here remembers the "BMW 335I making extra 100whp/126lbtq with a tune" thread. You see I tell you these 335i fanatics just freakin' exaggerate.

Claim way back then-
100whp and 126wtq with a tune

Reality-
113whp to 123whp and 128wtq to 138wtq with a tune, another upgraded tune and race gas map, catback exhaust, prototype intake, and 98 octane gas.

Impressive though, I just don't understand why there is such a need to exaggerate.

FTW of what? While 12.399@116.8 is impressive, it not earth shattering dude . Oh your thinking because it has limited mods, to repeat what Shiv has done with the exact same parts, would cost you at least $3,000 and that isn't counting the hours of tuning Shiv has personally placed on this car. Honestly an hour of Shiv's time on the dyno is worth $500 or more.

hey I think the 335i has some great potential and I expect the potential to even grow in the future, but 335i just hit the scene and has FTW nothing yet! You guys need to stop exaggerating and need to try a little humility once in a while.
