Thumbs down Mugen Civic SI - $48000!

So I had occasion to be in my local Honda dealer's showroom yesterday. They had a black Club Racer S2000 and a Mugen Civic SI on display. Killing time I decided to check out the cars, and was absolutely awestruck by what I saw-

The Civic had $3k in worthless filler crap (paint and fabric protectant, pin stripes that weren't there, $400 in window tinting), and the last line on the extras? $15,000 Market Adjustment. Total on this car was nearly $48k.

The Club Racer had much of the same crap, and a $5k market adjustment to boot.

Unfortunately they're not listing these two cars on their website, or I'd hoist them up on their pitards for you to see.

If you have that much to put on a Civic.. why not just get a Z06 for ~10 grand on top of that 48k. heh.

You should be able to see it at the dealer for a while. I doubt it will move at that price.

in my area there's a "market adjustment" on evos too. Anyone who pays over MSRP for a vehicle is retarted in my feeling.

I'll get the digital camera from my wife and take pics today. At that price, they out to throw in a second civic in the deal.

I saw both of these cars in perspn here at my local Honda dealership in Florida. The Blue civic wasnt as expensive here. It was like 38K. for 190hp.. I guess your paying for the body work, that hidious spoiler, and the v-tec?

that's crazy...those dealers are a few fries short of a happy meal for doing that...obviously honda made that mugen si targeting the same people who loves evo's, sti's, etc...the same crowd. so who would pay them $36-48K for a civic when those people know (hopefully they're not dumb either) that they can get a well worth better evo/sti for the same price?
