Great job Mitsu. Put a big wing on a car that already has suckwad visibility. I'm not going to lie, I do kind of like it. But by no means is it something that I would not even bother comparing to my current car, or any past DSM I owned. After driving my friends 06 Eclipse for a week, commuting 100+ miles a day, some things grew on me , but if you want a car you cant see out of, and are a huge fan of blindspots, this is your car.

speaking of front ends being the same tons of companies do it... every single BMW has that same fugly grill that looks like nose hair.
and btw, i think the new eclipse looks pretty sexy, the newer ones always looked really girly to me. I could imagine my girl rocking this while I hit up the evo.

The thing is that Mitsu's design rarely works out for them. Chrysler started the slight retro w/ the PT cruiser, and the fad carried over. The retro look infected the 'stangs, and it took off, besides there were no other f-body car in the market. Also, the t-bird failed miserably. Nissan's edgy designs are inspired by Renault who gave them the ***** to go forward on their design . . . that's why you see tons of 350z/G35, altima, and Maxima on the road. As for Toyo, they can't do anything wrong. They always hit the public's sweet spot.
Trucks are different when both GM and Ford have dominated overall vehicle sales in the US since the late 70's. GM or Ford can sell trucks from 700 to 1.1 million versus the top selling car that can reach about the 200K mark or so. That's a landslide. Hell, they can design a tank-like vehicle, and it will still sell.

The design is a step-up from the old design, at least for me. Now if they can stuff an AWD and possibly a turbo, now that would be something else . Though putting an AWD would be an issue to its already porky weight.

Its gotta have something to do with emissions control or something, I hope they're not just doing it for looks.
