Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
#138
i dont have an evo yet but will definitely get an evo X
i used to clown on evos cuz of the rental car interior but now, this new interior just catches my attention. i knew evos were fun to drive and fun to mess with and since they've upgraded the interior, im very excited about the car
imo, i dont think mitsubishi will screw up this evo, cuz alot of mitsubishi's sales come from the evo so regardless, tehy need to perfect the car.

I think I may get an Evo IX when the X comes out... give it 6-8 months while the popularity of the last 4G63 model increases and the list of bugs for X does the same. Then sell the IX and buy an '09 X for not much cost difference.
I did the same thing in '05 with an '04 Cobra for an '06...

I'll wait til the second year, but sure. It's going to have more performance out of the box than any of the current cars and only vanity would make me pretend that I can outshift this thing. Even be much easier to drive on a daily basis for my commute.

alot of these post were the same comments about the IX. No one really knew and thought it wasn't worth it but many would trade their VIII's for IX's. Now it has 30-40 more hp.

i've owned my wrx since it was new in june of 2002. I was just 23 when I got it. By the time I pay off my wrx this coming June i'll be 28. Since 2002 I've gotten married, bought a house and done the whole "growing up" thing.
I've been worried as to what car I could buy in the next 2 years that would suit my needs. Currently Subaru doesn't offer what I'm really looking for.
I want a high powered (300/300+) car with awd, a good warranty that also has nice options like nav, bluetooth, etc. Sure the legacy is an option, but the styling is on the bland side even though i do like it. However it's in the mid 200 range and hasnt seen in increase in 3 years since this model's release.
Basically I want something that is a melding of an sti/evo and a luxury sport sedan (a4, 3 series, etc) but without the price of said lux sedans.
At this point Mitsu is hitting the nail on the head for my next car. It's a HUGE pita that my wife can't drive (read refuses to drive manual) my wrx. I'm always the one stuck jackassing cars in the driveway. We always need to decide on what car to take depending on where we're going, etc. It'd be nice to have the performance of my stage2 wrx (and then some) in something that my wife can easily get into a drive. This new dual cluth auto-manual would be a perfect fit!
I know all the guys on here are upset that the Evo X isn't going to be the purebred performer it always has been, but I'm happy that someone is making a car like this. I think it will make alot of guys that have other responsibilites (families, kids, wives, etc) as they've gotten older very happy.
If Subaru doesn't do something similar, then at this point it's the X for me. Though I would LOVE a nice 335i =)
