Well i think that the 8 is a car that can handle more power the x i see the gearbox to be the weak link in it if the x would have been a manual gearbox maybe i would prefer tge x over 8

X GSR comes with a manual 5-speed. Please brush up on your specs before spreading any additional misinformation.

^ Yeah, now and then I still get people asking "How do you like the paddle shifters?"

F*ck if I know! I don't have them! I've seen 4 other Evo X's in my county, and 1 other X at an autocross. Only one of those cars had the paddle shifters.

For many X owners, I gather that the SST was too expensive, and not as involving as the 5-speed. The SST sounds like it might be fast, but I can see where a clutch would make you feel more like you're usin' yr skilz.

The next time I autocross against the guy with the MR, we might have a decent comparison.
He might not have autocrossed before he had his Evo.
I've autocrossed for...a while...but I will be pretty rusty by the time I race again.

I think we'll have equally crappy tires, too.

I wish I could see a stock Evo 8 or 9 at an autocross. The only 9 I've seen since I got my X had a big turbo and an 8500rpm long block. He'd better be fast!
Hard to compare A-Stock vs. Street Mod cars.

I think the X will look less "big" as more and more daily driver cars reach 3500lbs.

It's big compared to the older stuff, but all new cars are pigs for the most part.

I know this is old but trade in for and 05 MR is around 16-18k!
I went in to look at an XMR today and they offered me $16,500 for My VIII MR with 62k miles on it.

i think that the thing that mad the evo is all but lost in the X...seriously a evolution isnt supposed to ride nicer, look more sophistacited, etc. a evolution is supposed to be a raw machine for the enthusiast/do it yourselfer not for the suit that thinks "turbocharged" is some kind of magic under the hood. im sorry but by making this line more appealing to others is really taking away from its heritage. ITS A EVOLUTION, EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM ISNT SUPPOSED TO DRIVE THEM!

Evo is an Evo, I love my IX but if I wrecked it I would buy an X. Mod it up a little if I have to. I now have 30K on the IX, almost paid off. 6 year loan

The Dealer can play with a lots of things to disappear that or any loss in the car wich he trades in.
So trade in is never a good base of the car market value argument.

Same around here, the X won with a decent margin, and the road conditions (LOL) were terrible. Talked to DSG guys who were trailering a wrecked XIII and a 6th overall Subie. (I'd take a 2nd in class over a DNF. )

The X's AYC and tuned control system is the bomb. Put a good driver behind it, it makes him/her better.
