At first I really didn't like the X but it has started to grow on me a bit. I will wait a few years to see how they hold up and then maybe buy one to park next to my IX. But I will not trade my IX for a X especially since the IX was a one year only car . Even though the X is not a hard-core true Evo anymore, it would make a good, fast and well handling daily driver. I will have to go test drive one soon.

Really, what's all the fuss?
I've never seen soo many people get so excited over nothing!
"20 hp by just removing the airfilter, omg!" ....did you not notice that's it's still only 240whp.....not even up to the stock IX wich makes 250-260awhp with absolutely NO mods.
Now if the X stock basline was at 250-260awhp and it jummped 40hp with an intake and boost control, then I would scream and shout with the rest, but it's not.
Mod for mod the IX and X seem to be making the same whp. Who cares how big the jump or gain was, 300 is still 300.
I'm not saying the X isn't a great car, I'm sure it is. All evo's have their plus and minus, just don't make it out to be more than it's not.

Look at the total hp and mods list. The IX can do just about the same.
The difference is that's it's a 100hp increase from 215 with the X but only 50hp increase from 260 for the IX. IT'S STILL 310AWHP.

Did you happen to see the multiple tuners state how the X is more responsive to basic mods than any other vehicle? Stop hating please. People were downing the car before it landed discussing how slow it was going to be and how upgrading it was going to be difficult. Let the actual owners of the X enjoy their cars and its capabilities at present. Please?

It's only more responive because it started out 45hp less than the IX. I'm not trying to hate but instead to just get people to look at all the facts and not just flashy words like "huge gain".
Mainly I take offense to when they says it's better than something else when it's not.
I'm not blaming the X for the fact the Mitsu built it running as rich as it does and as restrictive as it is from the show room floor. But take it for what it is.
If it was my car and I just spent 40k on it and it only made 215whp, I would be like wtf?
It actually brings up another point, which being how much money total will it cost to get the X to where the Ix was. Remember the X started out 5k base price more than the IX and then add some mods just to get to 260whp. How much hp would a IX have with just the 5k difference into it?

In addition if you search you will find other shops that said that it only did 215whp before they touched anything.
EDIT- Here is a dynojet - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=323935

I'm not the only one with 250 - 260 whp on a stock IX.
