VW Scirocco: Concept vs Production
We're not getting this car in the U.S., at least that's the official word.
We all know how different a production car can look from its prior concept form.
However in the case of the new VW Scirocco, I couldn't help but be utterly disappointed, especially since the best part of the concept, the front end, was completely butchered in production form.

I am really happy it's not coming over to the US. That is the last thing we need. Another garbage product from Europe. UUUUUGGGGGLLLLYYY azz car. It's not enough that they have the ugly GIT and R32 but they want to bring more turd here. HHHHeeeelllllllll no. Keep it there.

I suspect the concept grill was scrapped because there's nowhere to mount the front beam required for crash safety.
I see more value in fog lights than I do in fake brake ducts.
The front corner is a bit too Bangloid (that's not a compliment) but otherwise I like it.

They could have kept the basic design, similar to what the Evo X has in production form, the trapezoidal grill with a horizontal crash beam dividing it.
It's all a moot point since we won't get it here in the U.S., our record weak dollar ensures that, but it was interesting to see how different the production is from the concept.
