$25,000 dollars can get you a pretty nice Supra, obviously it is not like buying a newer car where you can just say...

This particular one I believe is a 1994 Auto TT Targa with 129,000 miles on it and the price is around that of the budget. But people do not account for the fact that these are indeed one of the, if not THE longest lasting most reliable sports car out there. Hell there are members on Supraforums with single turbo Supras 400-500+whp with 230,000 miles on them without any major work and compression is near perfect and the cars run like new and are still very solid...

to the average person though the mileage and age scares people off but these are indeed extremely rare and special cars...

I believe roughly a total of 11,000 where produced (I don't remember if this was NA AND TT models or just TT) but between the ones that have been crashed, stolen I believe the number of them on the road is far lower.

These cars where $40,000 new and low mileage examples (10-40,000 miles) can fetch upwards of $60,000-70,000 dollars. These cars are remarkable and personally I would take the Supra, even if it where one with 150,000 miles on the clock as long as it had service records and owners that did not neglect the car.

This is my dream car.

Most I think will go with the EVO because it is newer, but do not be mistaken my friend... 400+whp with just basic performance upgrades will change your mind. You drive a BPU Supra and won't be able to stop doing this and saying whoa after

I'd go Supra even if it is an auto. They are incredibly reliable. I lived in an area that had quite a few of them and worked at a Toyota dealership and never saw them come into the shop except for oil changes.

MKIV supras are sick cars, but most that I have seen around that price are relatively high milage, maybe not high for the age, but high compared to what you can get on the evo

From your various posts in this thread it looks like you've already made up your mind.



IMO $25,000 will not get you a very good Supra.

You'll get a high mileage 93-95 car.


Like you I was in the market for a Supra about 3 years ago right before buying my Evo and my budget was about $35,000.

At that time I couldn't find a decent one (my limits were at most BPU++, and less than 55,000 miles) within $35,000.

I went as far as paying an 3rd party inspection service to inspect a prospective Supra in VA.


You'll be getting a 10-15 year old car which I'm sure has been driven hard for a decent amount of time; boost and high mileage is a bad combo.

You might find one which has been meticulously maintained but it's few and far between.



Very impressive cars, but I think Supra's have become a bit overrated and overhyped recently.
