I want to grow up, but not really look like I'm driving a minivan. I don't really like the looks of the new STI at all. Looks like a BMW X3 to me. But the performance is incredible for sure!

Subaru played russian roulette with the US market, and lost to the evo X.

Granted this was our opinion, but in person, we all really liked the look. Having owned the previous generation, we preferred this one in looks, comfort, quality, and usablity. The previous one was a little more tossable in corners.
Yes, its a hatch, and not everyone likes that, but we thought it worked. Pictures dont really do it justice

38k is a few thousand away from a totally stripped down basic 335i, which you would never want to drive. 45k+ is a better price to assume your 335i will cost. Priced out with very few options (and certainly not the stupid navigation) my 335xi I built and almost ordered cost 52k.
The new STi is GORGEOUS, and 5 doors are incredibly useful, I almost got an A3 except for the horrible lack of power for the price. And when compared to the X, well, lets just say if I went back into the market I'd be buying a new STi. Call me a sucker, or tell me I have bad taste, but I kinda like to have a warranty and a good looking car when I pay for a brand new car.... Plus easily store 4 other wheels in the back
Says the guy with the Civic hatch

Yeah how is it a station wagon? The overhang on the rear is less than that on the evo for god's sake.
I agree with UT Evo, the new Evo is really bad as far as practicality goes. They moved the battery and the washer tank I believe to the trunk which means it's essentially the size of one you'd find on a Porsche. A few guys in the local car club looked at and considered an evo but when they saw the trunk, there was no way.

Well I don't know if you were talking to me or not, but I have seen a few up close, sat in one (never drove it). I took a bunch of pics of one at a local auto-x and to me, it is quite ugly. But that is just my opinion of course! At least the inproved the interior. No more blue carpet/seats like the older STI's.
