the new wrx/sti is for people that hear that the car is fast and do not care they are driving around in a butt ugly car. The performance is there for both those cars to make them respectable to most enthusiast .... but normal people and even some enthusiast will still say ugly car and for the price the performance is not good enough to force people into getting used to the appearance of the car.

Yay! Still looks like a turd. Even the car magazines don't like the styling, and the performance has become "numb"
Thankfully the Evo will still be picking on the old and new WRX's a like. The newer wrx will just get walked a tad slower.

Good looks do not make up for crappy performance, it's somewhat ironic that an evo owner would even suggest that. Let's face it, neither the evo nor the STi are exactly good looking cars, they never have and never will be. If the evo came with a 150 hp engine, people would laugh at it and it would never have obtained the cult status it has today.
Subaru's sales are actually up quite a bit from last year, I'm not sure how Mitsubishi is doing. I've only seen maybe 3 evos driving around while I'm seen a good dozen STIs.
