Enhhh!! Wrong! Have you ever driven one of these? I felt like this was the cheapest built vehical I have ever driven. It sounds like I was riding on 44 inch super swampers the road noise was so bad. It didn't ride well and the list continues. The tib has an amazing ride, very comfortable, and very reliable. I can't have an opinion against the VW bc I have never owned or ridden in one. But I say +1 for the tib vs mazda any day

Crypto,

Make sure you pick up the DSG version, the best $1100 dollars value in the market today. Your car will accelerate 3 tenths of a second faster and with get you 1-2 more miles per galon, needless to ay the comfort of driving it.

remember, with the DSG you get:

never miss a shift
better gas mileage
lower maintenance
quicker car
Comfort of driving

I have DSG on my GLI and don't regret, I did my research and it was better than the 6 speed manual.

You should finish your statement/comment by adding the words: By far!

exclusively for the non believers:

In road racing, hwy pulls,racetrack or whatever competition the DSG simply wipes the 6 speed manual. It is the fastest shifting transmission put into a production car. Seriously dude, tell you wife that I say you better get a GTI with DSG(JK)

watch this/show to your wife:

did some number work. Montly costs

...................Pay.....Ins......Gas..........TOTAL

03 Lancer...$279....$290....$203......$772
06 GTI........$316....$302....$180......$798
07 GTI........$343....$302....$180......$825
07 Tib.........$283....$315....$248......$846

thats accounting for worse mileage possible on all cars, 5 yr loan for all cars, and for premium vs. regular gas. Also, all insurance costs include my wife and her car also

Tibby, used to own one and it never failed me. Very nice body, not the best power, but an incredible ride.

also, with the 2007's. GTI & Tib, i can get a 6 year loan.

Tib $241/month
GTI $293/month

which will save me money each month compared to the Lancer. However I'm undecided if i wanna do that

ok i reworked my figures to more average mileage, and payment costs. Cos i realized my earlier comparisons where incorrect

2003 Lancer: 25mpg - Reg Gas
Payment: $279 / 5yrs
Insurance: $290
Gas: $217
Total = $786

2006 GTI: 30mpg - Premium Gas
Payment: $297 / 5.5yrs
Insurance: $305
Gas: $190
Total = $792

2007 GTI: 30mpg - Premium Gas
Payment: $302 / 6yrs
Insurance: $305
Gas: $190
Total = $797

2007 Tiburon: 24mpg - Reg Gas
Payment: $241 / 6yr
Insurance: $320
Gas $226
Total = $787

korean cars suck man. they are getting better on creating more performanced cars, but the companies do not have much experience as other know companies. Trust me, Im korean and my family had owned many hyundais.
P.S> hyundais in korea are known for quiet family sedans, not for performance cars. people buy tiburons, because its the only "sport car" out there in my country.
