Couldn't wait, have new ride
I had a 2009 Viper ACR in my sights for the middle of next year, but everyone is trying to move their high performance cars right now. I couldn't pass up the deal. Yesterday, I drove home my new 2008 Z06, black, no options. The bargain price was $59.644 out the door. For the $40,000 difference between this and the ACR, I can buy Michelin Cup tires, Stoptech brakes, a KW adjustable suspension, functional front splitter and rear spoiler and have a Z06 ACR
. And, I would still have plenty of money left over for power mods, a great stereo system, and speeding tickets. I know the ACR is a complete package that has been fully tested and tuned to make sure all parts work together well. But, I figure I can get close to the same performance and spend alot less money.
If anyone is interested, the same dealereship has a black, 2LZ, chrome wheels, with navigation on the showroom floor for $65,780. That's 12K under MSRP, below invoice, and below GM employee pricing. The dealership is Gary Bowen Chevrolet in the little town of Chandler, OK.
I know
, but the weather was terrible when I drove it home yesterday and will be bad for the next 4-5 days, as we will have the remnants of Ike coming up from Texas. I will post some pics ASAP.
Carlos, I guess you were right. I couldn't fight the bargain price
.
James
PS. Carlos, what numbers did you end up with after going back to the stock cams? I would eventually like to add about 50-60 rwhp with some quality bolt ons. Also, what Corvette forum do you find to be most helpfull?

You definitely made the right choice. The Z06 is a sweet looking/performing car. It's also the best bang for buck on the market. With tires and a few other mods, not much under $200,000 can touch it...not to mention 25 mpg lol.

Those of you saying "put up or shut up" have forced me to post a pic of my dirty car in my dirty garage. I'll get some good pics of a clean car eventually.

James,
Congrats indeed!! I just can't believe it, what a smoking deal!
.., I don't think there is a person on this forum that would argue about that car with that price. That is a smoking deal!!
The economy is weak and GM had to bring down some pricing and the Z06 was one of them, I have seen a 2LZ package Z06 being sold a couple of weeks ago for $11000 less because of the GM employee disccount (made publicly).
Anyway, I am happy for you because that is a smoking deal for the type of car you got, I alsooriginally intended to get the basic model with just comp gray rims but the dealer did not have any at the time but even as a basic trim(1LZ) it comes fully loaded.
James, it was 501whp/480lb-tq with stock cam and 560whp/510lb-tq with the QM 600 cam. Both on the same dyno on 91oct(Dynojet). As per popular corvette forums, I go to : corvetteforum.com and z06vette.com. All the other members from this forum(evom) that owns Z06 arein the two forums I just mentioned.
Please pics!
