New Car Suggestions
If you havne't already seen i have another thread on how i totaled my Evo a couple nights back.
Now its time for me too look for a new car.
People are telling me to get another Evo but i feel like it just wont be the same.
I have been really interested in the volvo s60r (AWD 300hp turbo) some people say its good some people not. I am going tonight to the volvo dealership to check one out.
I have also been considering a S2000, just thought about that one today.
R32 was something else but its not my top choice, people have also told me masdaspeed6 but i was never a huge fan of that car. I was also thinking older M3.
If you guys can give me some input on some cars i mentioned or other cars that i would enjoy coming from an Evo i would appreciate it. Im looking to spend $20,000-$25,000.

If your more interested in performance over looks, you should take a look at the new Chevy Cobalt SS. Sure it look like a rental car, but it certainly doesn't perform like one.
For $20k-$25k, this thing is hard to beat...

The Volvo is certainly a nice car and very comfortable on the road. However it does not compare at all to the Evo performance wise.
The E36 and E46 M3's can be great track cars (or cars for spirited driving), but not in the same way as the Evo. The Evo's "fun" is in turning. The BMWs are more fun for touring (high speed sweepers and that sort of thing where good balance is crucial). Not sure about E36's, but the engine in the E46 M3 requires quite a bit of $$ upkeep (manual valve adjustment). It is also a top end happy motor, rather than low end power like most BMW engines (not to say it sucks at low RPM like the Evo engine, but it's got way more breathing room on the top end).
The S2000 is a fun car, but I wouldn't own one in NJ. They kind of suck in snow/wet weather and having a convertible in the snow blows. Here in Texas where you can get 300 days of top down driving, then they are a great daily driver.
You could get a used G35Coupe, which looks nice, but is a porker...
$25k almost gets a used EvoX (I am sad to say). $30k definitely gets a new one, and at 0% interest for 60 months, you'd be good to take your insurance money, stuff it into a 5% cd (penfed.org) and make money off the new car.

volvo=garbage.
i've posted this before. i have a very good friend who works at a shop that specializes in volvo, honda, mazda, toyota, lexus and acura. he told me that all the volvo work they do is enought to cover all the costs of running the shop without ever servicing any other brand of cars. rediculous stuff like pw switches and motors fail and then require elaborate procedures to fix. they are just junk, especially the 60,80,90 series.
if you can live without awd, i like the g35 coupe as well. make sure it's an '05 or earlier with a 6 speed and you get the suspension/brembo upgrades. no brembos on '06's and up. nice car and fairly bullet proof.

thanks for the input...I was really considering the s60r...i like the way you can make them look too. It seems like the more I'm looking for a new car the more I miss the evo cause it's so hard to find something compareible to it.

Mazdaspeed 3, Cobalt SS (still holds fastest FWD lap time on da 'ring), SRT-4.
If you weren't in NJ I'd say take 20ish, buy a nice S2k, and drop a turbo into it. I loved our turbo s2k... but it was crap in the snow, of course

I'm just not a fan of the mazdaspeeds or the new wrx.
I've seen some turboed S2's and they seem really nice.
I'll prob just go testdrive a bunch of cars and see what appeals to me.

That said, I think that they, in ivory with dark tint and the aero kit, are one of the best looking cars on the road.

I would not touch an S with a 300 foot pole if I was you, unless you have another car for the winter. I'd get an M3 in a winter state before I'd get an S. But it is your choice.
And I agree on not being a fan of the MS6, but the MS3 is pretty cool.
Sounds to me like you should either get an S60R or another Evo.
