you know another car that makes bad drivers look good? the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. american magazines said the same thing about the e36 M3 in its heyday. since when did any real enthusiast claim that a chassis that made you look and feel better than you supposedly are was a bad thing.

another thought - if you want a car that is a technical challenge, get an AP1 S2000. you'll be passed by the halfwit in the stock evo, but take pride in having a RWD car and enjoy doing silly things. if you want a car that an average guy can drive and break GT3s and Turbo 911s in half - the GTR has already done it. just depends on what you find satisfying.

on forums, people can go in circles about enthusiast theory forever. but blowing by a "purist" at corner entry, under steady state cornering, at corner exit, and down a long straight kinda puts all that high brow, looking down at the poor people that can't afford real cars enthusiast theory in perspective.

plus, when you are a gameless wonder like me, even rolling up in an F430 won't help.
I'll take the car that I can drive the best please even if it's a nissan and not a porsche. I freaking love Porsches but here in Dallas they are nearly a dime a dozen with the exception of the Carrera GT (drool). Man I love that car!!

Let’s look at the facts: (all prices are MSRP)

Porsche Turbo: 129K
Porsche GT3 RS: 125K
Viper ACR: 100K
GTR: 77K
Z06: 73K

The Viper, GTR, and Z06 all outperform the top end Porsches in one arena or another. Some even outperforms the Porsches in everything.

So what does this prove? That Porsches are overpriced for their performance level.

Overrated and underperforming is directly related to price of the vehicle. Considering that the GTR is 50k less than the Porsche Turbo and is better a handling machine, the Porsche Turbo falls easily into the overrated and underperforming catalogue. In addition, it’s well known that the Porsche Turbo under steers badly going into the turns and over steers coming out of it. As well as having mid-corning stability issues. For 50K more than the GTR, and 29K more than the Viper ACR, the Porsche has no excuses why it doesn’t meet up.

Let’s look at just the video. The GTR clearly pulls away from the Porsche GT3 RS, and again the Porsche cost 48K more. If it wasn’t for the traffic slowing the GTR down, the video of the GT3 RS filming the GTR from behind would have been much shorter.

In conclusion, yes the Porsche is overpriced for its performance level, yes for the cost it’s over rated, and yes it under performs cars that cost 50k or less.

Actually you're the first to bring light to these "issues" lol. You never even explained you're last "handles like a POS" comment. Care to explain this one, since you're obviously some sort of LeMans driver. Also, everyone knows the Nissan IS faster in a straight line by a BIG margin than the GT3rs, and slightly then the turbo.

You are obviously a kid that has very low reading comprehension. What part of “…Porsche Turbo under steers badly going into the turns and over steers coming out of it. As well as having mid-corning stability issues.” you don’t understand as POS handling?

Now are you going to back yourself up on that "POS handling" theory or are we supposed to listen to the feces coming out your mouth. Oh that's right, thank you. Another post with nothing relevant in it. If you want I can pull up probably hundreds of articles/reviews/history of praise (just google as a matter of fact, countless awards as well), now are you gonna back yourself up or what?
