Need I go on? Overpriced, underperforming? That's what a quick 5 minute search yields. Now for a big, overpriced, underperforming POS, it seems to do quite well in a lot of things if you ask me. Once again I don't even want to bring Porsche's racing history into this, that would just be a world of sh*t for you.

Oh and I googled Porsche 911 turbo handles like a POS. Here's what came up, check the second one down . Looks like you're all alone in the dark brother. It actually came up with quite a few references of people talking about their own cars or other cars they've tested about how they WISHED it handled like a 911 lol. Oh the Irony. BTW this never was a debate if you haven't noticed . I threw in another one there for you as well, thought you might like it.

P.S. You DO know which vehicle Nissan ripped apart to study when they were building they're GTR right. Yup, you got it. THAT was the bar they set for themselves. Maybe they should've studied the tranny while they were at it.

Love the silence......

let's keep it on topic and no personal attacks! it is true in the OP post and link that the gtr creamed the gt3 rs(the video says it all). as to the overprice and underperforming comment that is also correct since the gtr shows great value in terms of performance. as to what you want to own that is your personal choice.

The video doesn't say anything

Give me the RS all day long - Thanks

Not sure if mentioned here, but Porsche has been trying to recreate the Nissan's time with no luck and are asking Nissan some questions.

Anyone see the blue evo being passed at 3:34? :O

And I'd take the Porsche without a second thought if they were free. If I had to buy it, GT-R easy decision.

Porsche over nissan for me.

if you watch the video the porsche is so much more balanced then the gtr. Straight line performance goes to the gtr sure but if it was a short track with lots of turns the gt3 probably would have won.

it may be a long lap, but nordschleife doesn't exactly have a defecit of turns. nor does it lack short (or long) straights.

another thought - if you want a car that is a technical challenge, get an AP1 S2000. you'll be passed by the halfwit in the stock evo, but take pride in having a RWD car and enjoy doing silly things. if you want a car that an average guy can drive and break GT3s and Turbo 911s in half - the GTR has already done it. just depends on what you find satisfying.

on forums, people can go in circles about enthusiast theory forever. but blowing by a "purist" at corner entry, under steady state cornering, at corner exit, and down a long straight kinda puts all that high brow, looking down at the poor people that can't afford real cars enthusiast theory in perspective.

You dont think I know that? I have AXed, and tracked Miatas, M3s, S-crap-RT-4s, and a 944, amoung other cars(including S2000s).
I am in the process of buying a Miata to build for SM. I have the Evo because it is nice to drive everyday and It does well on the weekends.
Believe me I feel like a dirty bastard on the track because it is so easy to drive to a point.
Besides people that can truly afford a $80k car I would like to think could possibly afford a 120K car if they wanted.
I am not a GTR hater but I am not a JDM supercar nut swinger.
Dont worry I have a feeling that there will be a few cars that will be besting the GTR in the next year.
To tell you the truth I would really like a C6 Z06 with some R-Dots on it and call it a day, that would be my ideal car.

thus why the Porsche was able to stay with the GTR slightly better driving and handling of the corners.

no, that's the whole point of the vid. under no circumstance (other than traffic holding up the GTR) did the porsche keep up with the GTR.

most people that earn that much money are very intelligent and that 50% price difference would not escape them. ever notice how the rich get richer? it isn't by wasting 40k on a slower car, that's for sure.

as far as swinging on the nuts of brand X, i would like to think that people that surf a car forum or two aren't beholden to any particular brand.

Though I considered the GT3 and Turbo when I was looking for a car, I knew that I could not afford either one new. It just did not make sense to buy one used when I could invest the same amount of money in a new car. The GTR almost had me hooked, but the mark-ups really ticked me off. So I bought a new Z06 and saved at least 20K vs. a new GTR (paid 13k under MSRP). For the kind of day-to-day driving I do, the Z06 was probably the better car anyway. And that extra 20K can go a long way to buying Michelin Pilot Cup tires and some aerodynamics. We can argue the track capabilities of these cars all day, but the majority of us would not spend that kind of money on a track only car. Most of us will look at the big picture: price, comfort/convenience, performance, looks, reliability, warranty, etc. Buy the car you enjoy the most and can afford. Porsche or Nissan........It's all good.
