C6 Z06..........Getting Supercharged.
Well guys.......some of you said you wanted updates on the car when it went in for mods.
I dropped it off yesterday at ECS for a custom supercharger kit and a set of ARH headers.
I will be picking the car up either thursday or friday and am expecting between 600-640rwhp on a VERY conservative tune.
Once i get it back i'll post pics and more info.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Rez,
I am not kidding but you would have to upgrade the rubber to 345's(Michelin's or Nitto Invos), when I did my engine work in August the tires were smoking above 70mph, I had to readjust my driving style(more detail to the steering). Do you have any stock dyno numbers? It is imperative that you get some baseline while stock.
I am very glad you went the S/C route, the cam upgrade can put sick numbers but like you well know sometimes is a hit or miss. Your S/C will give you great gas mileage with great street driving manners and tons of power/torque the whole time without sacrificing anything(unlike cam).

Because a Z06 can be purchased for $60k and a ZR1 will cost you above $100000. The ZR1 is a better car but a Z06 with simple bolt ons will do better on the power to weight department and will cost much less to maintain(insurance gas, maintenance).
A ZR1 is in a different league, you have to really have some money to have a ZR1, in contrast the Z06 used market is affordable and atractive. There are gazillion upgrades for the Z06 while the ZR1 doesn't have the support yet (but soon will).
It is easy to say, why don't you just get the ZR1? but is not like that, there are many other things to consider.

The only ZR1 that i know of that sold in jersey went for $50k over sticker ($155k) and from what i understand it was preordered a WHILE before the owner got it.
I paid under $70k for my car so you can understand the reality that the ZR1 is basically twice the cost of the Z06.
All of the above responses are also totally correct as far as timing, aftermarket, and the fact that the ZR1 makes roughly 530whp while the Z06 with the SC is going to make well over 600whp.......
Hope that answers the question.
The biggest reality to this whole thing is that there's NO WAY I CAN AFFORD A ZR1......lol

congrats on the new mods to come soon. I just bought a C6 a few months ago and I have been talking to ECS about a SC kit as well. They are the ones to make unbelievable power on the vettes thats for sure!
Like you said the ZR1 is a great car, but right now you can't get one for less than 125-150k ATLEAST!!
Good luck with your beast!
