stop with that evo rs bs kundal, ssl package is where its at!

But like stated, for the moneys, nothing will come as close in performance.

If you do get the mr, be aware of smashing your syncros into smitherines as your bang 4th!

Ive heard that that is only for HARD and LONG road racing though. It doesn't make a difference in daily driving, light road racing, or drag...

yeah dd should be fine just thought I'd throw it up in the air. Regardless, 6 speed transes are half the price of 5 speed these days due to their "unpopularity", can always swap in a 5 speed. There are a plenty of mr's with stock transes on high miles which haven't blown either, and the 6 speed does have that nice shifter feel, not notchy like the 5. Heres an example of how nice they go into gear:

I mean they bang gears so nicely you can even hear the rear end thud in the video!

C6 Z51 or a nice Supra for speed. More refined 335i or E46 M3.

If it were me I would choose the C6 Z51. Slap some 305's out back, Bilstein coils, LG headers, Vararam intake, Kooks, and couple other things and have 450whp, pulls 1g on the skidpad, and get high 20's on the highway and super reliable. Believe or not the C6 isn't all that bad on insurance either...humm I think I am telling myself something

Screw winter I park my evo during it anyways...no point in risk wrecking a 35k investment.

I kinda had that same "feeling" you did, and it may be satisfied with a well set up purist rwd sports car - like s2000 and rx7 - no matter how much faster the evo potentially can be you really get a sense of full connection in those kinds of cars

If you are all about performance and a used IX is you're price range, I'd prolly stick with that.

On the other hand, a low 2 seat sports car will give you a different feeling altogether - not all out performance, but a more balanced, fun-to-drive-at-6/10ths kind of a feel. S2000, maybe an M3 (more of a GT), or if you can swing for a used car in the upper 30's, the Cayman S is exceptional (and underrated due to its price), or a new Z. Be forwarned though, less expensive cars will work you over at the strip and track. But smiles-per-mile, these cars are pretty darn good.

There aren't that many cars that has combination of turbo + awd + manual transmission + production passenger car status:

Audi Quattro
Audi S2/S4/RS2/RS4 (up to B5 platform)
Audi S6/RS6
Lancia Delta HF (4WD and Integrale variants)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (9 and 9.5 wagon as well)
Porsche 911 turbo (starting from 993)
Porsche 959
Subaru Impreza WRX (and all subclasses)
Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165/ST185/ST205

Can't think of any more, Veyron wouldn't count since its auto tranny.
