Tried the WRX, STi, & Evo: Can't Decide Where to Go Next and What to Get!
Hey everyone...
Ive always had a love for turbocharged AWD cars. I started off with a 2004 WRX and then upgraded to a 2006 Evo. I then got rid of the Evo for a 2004 STi (which I greatly regret). In my opinion, after driving and modifying each, I can definitely say that the Evo > STi > WRX.
I had my mind set on going back to a 2006 Evo MR and keeping that until it dies. I somewhat feel like I already lived out the Evo though, as my other one had 400whp and 400wtq on the stock turbo. I'm trying to decide if that is what I should get or if I should venture out of my turbocharged AWD box.
What have past Evo owners upgraded to and have felt satisfied with?
I have a fear of getting something that will not live up to the Evo's abilities/standards. I feel like I will be disappointed performance wise if I try elsewhere. I dont really care about looks. I care about what other cars will have the same caliber performance ability (if not better) for the money.
Should I try to find a good deal on a 2006 Evo MR like I originally planned or switch to another genre of car?
I need your input based on experience!
Thanks!

IX RS...stay true to your roots homie . Nothing in it's price range or even +/- 10k will give you the kind of performance a STOCK Evo will even give. Think about it, when we made 400awhp/awtq, how much had you invested for powerwise? Less than $2000. You can buy a Supra/Viper, but it's not a daily and chances are you'll go STRAIGHT; You can buy a Civic and drop a k24 turbo motor and you wont have the kind of traction you'll have in an Evo or the daily handling it provides. Think about it bud...come back to us .

evo is pretty hard to beat! if ur a baller then try a bmw 335 series... otherwise, for the price and aftermarket support, easy modability, community support, the evo wins...

EVO is awesome bang for buck......if you don't live and die by the 1/4......or are a track rat.
I would highly recommend a C6 LS3 or better a z06. GMAC offering 0% until 3/2/9 the EVO owns on steering (it's quicker & more feedback), out the hole (AWD), Performance per $$, and 4 doors.
Looks, sound, interior, high speed cofindence, mpg, insurance, reliability, jump on the Vette bandwagon.

^ wth lol... evos will pwn a 335... remember ... the op said handling is important... if you want to build a drag car... evo is good but isnt great... 335 is mediocre in all the categories... but that includes looks / chicks / luxuries as well

Lotus Exige, M3, Porsche?
I sold my Exige to "upgrade" to an Evo but many would see this in reverse. I've had an Cobra, M3, Lotus, and now Evo....only thing I've wanted and have not tried is a Porsche. Evo is best all around car in my opinion that I have owned.
We need to know a lot more about your needs and budget to offer a good suggestion but good luck!
