I would personally take the new civic si over the genesis but that's just me. I do like the body styling alot though, and would definately compare this more to the wrx, ralliart, 370z, dodge caliber, acura rsx, gti r32 range. Evo x's are of a more elite class, even though I'm on my second clutch due to this heavy *** drivetrain.

It's always better to under promise and OVER deliver. I'm going to have to look into this car some more. Saw it at SEMA and it's a very good looking car.

I'd quickly take the 370Z out of that class. It's easily competitive with the Evo.

uhh i hate plastic valve covers!!

my local hyundai dealership had a V6 come in not to long ago and it was pretty nice. the Blue color is amazing and the interior felt big. i didnt test drive it cuz i had no time but it sold fairly quick and the sticker price was a little over 32K for the V6

I wish they had tested an owner's or dealer car instead of one Hyundai provided for them. Plus I don't understand all this business of an ECU pulling power back to preserve the drivetrain. With only 210 hp that seems suspect to me.

If the bottom end is truly weak (I do not know), just go to Mitsu parts department and order a Evo X short block for a couple thousand. Injectors less than $500 and somebody will be able to tune the ECU ($500-$1000)

So for total investment of $25k (including car) you can have a stronger, tuned RR car.

Again I dont know much about this car yet, but it seams like a bargain and competitor.

Any of you guys comparing your stock turbo x's are just plain retarted. The x has beefier internals and a bigger turbo. Not to mention all factory supporting mods. And then there's the fact it runs more boost. Come on now guys.

It's like saying a honda can't be fast because it only put down 350 to the wheels on a 35r. Meanwhile my 4g63 stock block/head/turbo put down more. Well yea, but you leave out the small detail of the honda running a stock na internaled block at 8 psi.

So cut the bs. It's a great platform and i think it'll really flourish. It's great for people looking to stay under 400hp as a daily driver. And for the hardcore drag racers who choose to work the motor or swap the evo x 4b11 in. It's going to be a hit no matter what.

Don't hate, yes the x is better. But the genesis is going places people.

Oh and another thing, the reason it's 1/4 times are so ****ty. Has anyone bothered looking at the dyno sheet?! The thing tapers off to all hell. That turbo can't get out of it's own way.

Yes the turbo is very small which means a replacement turbocharger and fuel system will be mandatory to get even close to 300 whp. I'm sure these cars will become popular but people thinking that large, easy gains will be had from intake/exhaust and simple tune will have a rude awakening. Hyundia is working on a direct injection version of the engine. That may be worth waiting for.

Imho that is soooo no worth it. Think about it you're reaching brand new garret ball bearing price ranges with that price. And that's a new garret vs. a used x turbo.

Not for a used X turbo, he's saying $995 for a brand new X turbo, but if you want stock appearing, I don't see why a Red wouldn't work. But you'd need a new manifold and O2 housing too, as I'm guessing the Gen coupe is single scroll.
