I had an is300 with a swap surprise me at a stop light. The guy was riding my bumper for a while and then when we came to a red light he pulled up next to me. The light turned green I dumped the clutch and when he heard that he was having trouble getting traction but when he did the car stayed on my rear quarter until I lifted. Didn't want to get a ticket but couldn't pull away from him.

Does the is300 in question have a manual or automatic tranny? IMO, even if you have tons-o-horsepower, if its bolted up to a slushbox, then that takes the fun out of it. Automatics are for the elderly and people who want to talk on their cell phones while driving: the 2 types of people who shouldn't be on the road in the first place.

Or for a consistent sub 9 second car.

...big power turbo rwd cars are also very fun to drive daily although you wont get the same satisfaction of fondling your car.

More fun to drive overall including handling, the EVO
A better driver with the ability to make more HP and more confortable, the IS300 hands down

depends if you want a more balanced car, or just a cruizer with crazy HP for straight line.

There are several IS300's here in Miami with 2JZ swaps. They are really fast! It just depends on what you want out of the car.

If you call Herbie at KAW in Miami he has 2 IS's in his shop right now that are making well over 700+ HP 305-971-2100.
He also has built some pretty sick Evo's.

I have a friend that is in the process of doing a fuilly built 2JZ with a (secret) turbo in a brand new IS 250. That has turned out to be alot of work. But when its done it should be something else.
The best part about it is that he is building it for his wife. gotta love that!

Good luck.

2JZ swapped anything = traction nightmares on the street. Go with a nice Evo VIII/IX, build it up to the tune of 500-600whp (or more if you want) and go stomp on them.

the evo is a lot of fun, but an is300 is pretty rare (with 2JZGTE swap) and the exhaust note is amazing.
