My wife convinced me to sell the 240SX
It was pretty easy actually.
First of all, I love this car, we have had it for almost 9 years now and I swore I would never get rid of it, ever. I have replaced the engine once and poured thousands of dollars into keeping it running. It is my daily driver and my baby.
So how did the wife convince me to get rid of the car after 9 years.
Well, we just had our second child and we needed something with more room, I went for the 2009 RA.
The plan was to keep both cars, but insurance on 2 cars for 1 driver is ridiculous. Then I thought about storing the car, again it seemed cost prohibitive.
Then I found a company that imports Japanese cars, and discovered they sell 180's RHD!!!
I told my wife I was willing to sell the 240, but in 2-3 years, once the RA is paid off, or mostly paid off, I want to get a 180SX. She agreed and here I am all set to sell my baby.
I never thought I'd sell my 240, but then I never thought I would be able to get my hands on a RHD 180SX either!

lol
It's all good, besides, I don't think my wife would let me sell them, she likes keeping them locked up.
The last time she let me have them for an extended period of time was when I was deployed to Afghanistan.

That company that sells 180 RHD's.... what company is that. I'd like to know as I want to import a RHD Evo.
I found them late last night while researching importing JDM cars. They sell U.S. Street, U.S. Track, Canadain Street, and Canadian Track JDM cars. They have a 1993 Lancer for "U.S. Track" not street.
However I also found this little nugget....
DRIFT Tuners can now slap on a DT kit car vin that way we can ship any car for LEGAL street use even if it's not on the NHTSA list. Some assembly required
This also includes a valid U.S. title, DOT letter of compliance. We re-fabricate the car to meet DOT standards. The thing is you don't get the motor or transmission included because the motors don't pass smog laws in most States. The DT kit cars all pass 50 state requirements. It's a great service +1

So they also sell U.S. street without engine/trans. you would have to drop in a U.S. motor/trans. in order to pass EPA requirements.

The plan for the RHD 180SX is to drop around $35,000-$40,000! I want a "sleeper" that looks mostly stock on the outside but pushing 700whp! hehehe
Yeah, I know, it's hard to have a sleeper with RHD and a 180SX logo, but I also like the stock look of these cars.

My friend, you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book by women: buy the family car now and later you can get your fun car. She's just buying time with agreeing to your 180SX idea but the bigger deal to her is getting rid of your 240 (which she probably can't stand).
Good luck in a couple of years.

Right after we got married, we needed a car, her old roommate was selling her 240 because she had also gotten married and her and her husband had bought another car. They were looking at selling her 240. She gave us a deal because my wife and her were close friends. My wife was like "Ooooh, honey, we should buy Rhonda's car." I didn't even know what a 240 was at the time. lol
I went down, took a look and a test drive and I was like, wow, this is the greatest car ever....wow, I have the greatest wife ever. How cool is my life? Of course, that was when we were DINKs.
Anyway, we did need a family car, with 2 kids, but the wife left it all up to me. her only demands were:
1. Four doors
2. Cup holders
3. No purple
FOUR DOORS?!?!?
Evo here I come!
Then it was like, ummm, maybe not (sticker shock).
Ralliart here I come!
The wife never even saw the car before I bought it. lol
The rest is history.
Overall, I would say a 9 year run with our 240 is pretty good, I just never planned on getting rid of it, ever!

240sx with sr20 or rb26 are sikk sikk cars... how do you like the RA?
As for the RA, I love it! Performance, power, handling, AWD, convenience features, it is the complete package IMO. Yeah, the Evo is superior in many respects, but for a DD and the bottom line price the RA was the way to go for me at this time.
hmmm..id like to buy me a r-34 gtr.
However, I like the looks and styling of the 180sx/240sx HB better.
