if the maintenance is done it has no reason no to still run. Its not like its some old clunker, 04 model year is 5 years old or 6 however you look at it.

I think the impressive part is 300k miles in mere 5 years... Probably all highway miles guessing from his job description, but still...

There's a guy on one of the DSM boards with over 300K on his GSX, that was a surprise to me. And not because I don't think Mitsus can do it, on the contrary, but just because the nature of a complicated beast like a GSX would make me think most wouldn't make it that long without needing a major overhaul and end up getting scrapped.

But, when I worked at a Mitsu dealer I saw a handful of 250K+ cars. Mostly Mirages. One Mighty Max over 350K.

Ahhh, the beauty of regular maintenance. Plus, I bet he never got accused of abusing his vehicle by his dealer.

300,000 miles / 5 years = 60,000 per year

60,000 miles / 365 days = 164.39 miles per day

164 miles / 24 hours = 6.83 miles per hour

So, if you drove approx. 7 miles per hour for 5 years straight, you would hit 300,000 miles.

Im just gonna buy a roller, put the car on it, set the cruise control to 35mph, and hook the gas tank up to a 50000 gallon drum.
