Subaru's STI Spec C...
I did some reading about it and it turns out they didn't even use their typical 2.5L... what did they use? A 2.0! lol. I found that sort of funny since I guess they wanted a little more RPM's out of it maybe... it also has an intercooler water spray system. The thing is that it produces the exact same power as their 2.5L. Did they use a 2.0 for a reason other than the fact that Mitsu has been using the 2.0 for sometime and it has produced great results?

I think the main "lol" in this post is that:
a) The Spec C is a JDM-only car
b) JDM Subarus have always used the 2.0 liter flat four for WRC homologation
c) Both Subaru and Mitsubishi have produced great results with the 2.0 turbo four cylinder, be it inline or horizontally opposed. This was the size limit for WRC (which, ironically, Mitsu has pulled out of...)
d) 2.5 liter motor is more or less a US-only engine because Americans seem to appreciate the STI concept better when it spools/produces torque at lower RPMs. That's what the folks at Subaru tell us anyways.
No Subaru "fanboi" content here, I'm about to buy an Evo. Just the general car-lover/fact police.

Spec C is like RS for evo, it has thinner windows and many other parts removed, although I believe it retains ABS, climate control and power windows. Usually weighs about 30kg less (66lbs) although older models had option like RS where they come with 15" steelies and crap brakes and you can buy the better one as package.
EJ207 has twin scroll turbo attached and redlines at 8000rpm. It also has stronger internals. Designwise EJ257 would be better (restriction vs no restriction of homologation). Cosworth offers 2.5 crate engine and long block, with all blueprinted and balanced parts, with stronger materials, thus superior than either of the stock engines. They also offer their own 2.0 but I don't think it is as popular.
