I was driving buy a mazda dealership last week. As I was driving buy some guy looked like he was test driving one with the dealer. So I blew past them to get there attention. Next thing I know They try to catch up. As they are coming closer to my rear bumper, I down shifted into third gear and left them in the dust. I still wonder if the guy bought the car?? Hahaha

I think the RX-8 looks hot. I like what I've seen in pictures more than what I've read in magazines and forums. Especially the Mazda Speed RX-8, uNF!

The RX8 *looks* good and there are after market turbo options, with the Greddy kit being the cheapest and most readily available. The Greddy turbo kit on the RX8 should put you up to about 240whp or so, which is pretty decent. With the newest M flash for 03s and 04s, the mileage of the RX8 has increased and is just about on par with the Evo's mileage.

My fiance just bought one. I think it's a solid car, and it turns a lot of heads. It looks hot, especially in person. It's not as fast as the Evo, (obviously) but I would drive one if I didn't own my Evo. She got the 6 speed manual, with 238 hp. With the upgraded air intake, she's putting out about 250 hp...not bad.

I agree that while the car looks awkward in most pictures, it definately looks much better in person. Still goofy from some angles, but sexy and exotic from most. Especially black at night.
A horrible car if you're looking to win stoplight races. A fantastic car if you're into carving up twisty roads, heel-and-toe downshifting, bouncing off 9,500 rpm rev-limiters, etc.

looks good from the front. the hump is kinda disturbing.
interior is awesome.
it's a damn shame they have so many problems, horrible gas mileage, and no power whatsoever. i've test driven 3. handles nice, but doesn't even have the mininum "go" you'd get in other great handling cars. s2000 is a great example, and they're rated as having around the same power. well, even though the s2000 is only slightly lighter, it feels MUCH more powerful.
rx8 is a big disappointment... i was considering buying one for a short period of time until i snapped out of it.
