If you could have any car under $40,000

Hey guy,

Seems that I might be buying a new car. I will probably stay in the evo family, but I figured I would look at my other options too. If you cold buy any car under $40,000; what would it be, and why?

Moved to Other Cars, you're more likely to get the answers you're looking for here.

Personally, I've been itching for something RWD, and the RWD car of the moment seems to be the 2011 Mustang GT. Well under $40k, so you'll have money leftover to tweak it.

New car? Or simply $40,000 to spend on a car?

2011 Mustang GT or an Evo X both would give me money left over to mod

Well, I know this is two opposite sides of the spectrum, but I guess it just reflects where I am right now...

Built C5 Vette (making at least 500 whp) or Evo VIII...

i'd find a 1-2 yr old jeep cherokee srt8. it reacts well to mods for a na motor!!! spend about 1300 bucks on mods and you'll have mid 12 sec SUV. Just the options with it: track, wheeling, groceries, and auto x to boot.
i've already planning on this:
air intake
tb
exhaust
tune

Look hard enough and a C6 Z06 can be had for $40...I'd take that over anything in that price range imo.
