that isn't a kit car - look at the rear end pics from this site: http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/m...N_PHOTO&bhcp=1 and then compare it to a 1960s GT40, which is what any & all kits are based on.
too bad you didn't get a shot of the wheels (or did you?) because that would have confirmed it.

I saw the real one at the United States GP. The white one in the pictures is also real. The taillights (actually most taillights in general) are too complex for a kit manufacturer to reproduce, and there's no production car with lights like those to use. Plus, all the kit GT40's I know of are of the original GT40, not the current Ford GT (not called the GT40 because someone else owns the copyright to that name now). Those wheels also appear to the production Ford GT pieces, and definitely can't be found on any kit car...

oh, and any Ford GT you see on the road today is probably the 400 HP (4.6 Cobra engine) chassis test bed. Ford built at least 3 of them and have been testing/refining the chassis/suspension. They are a little rough which would explain the gap on the *** end of the car Silver saw.

I think trigeek's point was that the engineering mules had the cobra engine, not the production model. Also, how does working at a dealership make you a ford employee? Finally, the horsepower in all the press material and magazines has been confirmed at 500. Also the engine has more in common with the cobra than the lightning, since it has a 32 valve head. It is exceedingly unlikely that your dealership is getting a GT soon, since virtually all of the first run have been presold to ford execs and their friends.

Thanks again to the mods for actually deleting the posts I had that were relevant here....
How about you just remove the morons?
Anyway - I am still curious to know where the original poster encountered this GT.
