Forbes' Fastest Cars Under $50k and the Evo X...
...DIDN'T make the list of course.
Yeah, found the story featured on Yahoo's main page and found their choices "interesting". Mitsubishi didn't make the list. Subaru didn't make it either.
But here is who did...
"That price tag is out of reach of most Americans, but speed doesn't have to cost a fortune. The Nissan 370Z, Ford Mustang GT500 and Infiniti G37, for instance, each cost less than $50,000--and they all get to 60 miles per hour in under six seconds."
Article: http://www.forbes.com/2010/05/05/fas...orsepower.html
Ford Mustang GT500
Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 seconds (GT500)
Top Speed: 155 mph
Details: RWD, 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $48,645
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 seconds
Top Speed: 160 mph (estimated)
Details: RWD, 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $33,945
Dodge Challenger SRT-8
Zero to 60 mph: 4.9 seconds (SRT8)
Top Speed: 140 mph (estimated)
Details: RWD, standard 5-speed automatic transmission
MSRP: $41,230
Audi TTS
Zero to 60 mph: 4.9 seconds (coupe); 5.1 seconds (roadster)
Top Speed: 155 mph
Details: 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
MSRP: $45,900
BMW 135
Zero to 60 mph: 5.1 seconds (135i)
Top Speed: 130 mph
Details: RWD, 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $36,050
BMW 335i
Zero to 60 mph: 5.3 seconds (335i xDrive); 5.1 seconds (335s coupe)
Top Speed: 130 mph
Details: RWD, 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $42,600
Nissan 370Z
Zero to 60 mph: 5.5 seconds
Top Speed: 155 mph
Details: RWD 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $33,410
Infiniti G37
Zero to 60 mph: 5.5 seconds (coupe)
Top Speed: 156 mph (estimated)
Details: RWD 6-speed manual transmission (optional)
MSRP: $37,000
Lexus IS Sedan
Zero to 60 mph: 5.6 seconds (IS 350)
Top Speed: 143 mph
Details: RWD 6-speed automatic transmission
MSRP: $37,595
Porsche Boxster
Zero to 60 mph: 5.6 seconds
Top Speed: 163 mph
Details: RWD 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $47,600
BMW Z4
Zero to 60 mph: 5.6 seconds (sDrive30i)
Top Speed: 130 mph
Details: RWD 6-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $46,000
Now, most of those cars IMO deserve to be on that list, but others are just comical. For example, the Z4? The IS350? The G37? Seriously? Oh c'mon!
Here's one Forbes forgot to put on the list:
Mitsubishi Evolution X
Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 seconds
Top Speed: 155 mph
Details: AWD 5-speed manual transmission
MSRP: $33,590
It will smoke half of those cars on that list no matter which type of track you put it on.
I blame the pathetic editors of course. Then again, i'm sure most of these articles of this type are sponser-driven using money to drive the products they want to advertise so what's the point of arguing. Am I right?

haha its ok bro, we know the real deal who cares what Forbes think. IMO the less people that know about our cars the better and more exclusive. I dont want the Evo to end up like an IS/370z/Mustang one on every corner, everyone and their moms has one of those.

I saw this same article last night while watching tv with my wife. She rolled her eyes and laughed at me for the big deal I made about the omission of Evo / Subaru. Whether you want to be exclusive or not, its still a pretty lame list.

Its not fast LOL
But I do find it weird that they included both the 370Z and G37, basically same car. And 135/335 are very similar also. Both are nice cars, but seems a little redundant. But maybe forbes didn't want to take the time to actually research these cars they put on the list?

Suprised it didn't make the list, but again, I am in agreement with everyone else. I am glad not many have them, it adds a little exclusivity that only so many were made and now the IX's aren't sold anymore. I think the X should have been on the list though regardless...
