Ford really step-up to the plate on the new 5.0.
Just a note...bet the mustang forums aren't as open to praising an Evo no matter how good it is.

Call me stupid, but I think the 3.73 is too short of a choice for drag racers. It sounds like it has Evo X disease, can't trap above 113mph in fourth on the stock rev limiter.

Thanks for updating, love seeing the gains and learning more about the project!

Total different ballgame with a Terminator, man.
Even with a 3.73, you can go 122mph in the quarter on the stock redline on an 03.
Different gears, different redline, different everything from your car.

The 3.73 is not helping this car after the 1/8th that's for sure. The shift to 5th hurt it and keeping it in 4th did too. It needs a taller tire and the rev limiter bumped. I've got the rev limiter moved now so that will take care of it for a bit, then it will be a taller tire after that. Looking back a 3.55 gear would have been a better choice. The best choice would be a trans gears so 4th was 1:1!

Dear Buschur,

It's been six whole days since we've heard from you. Please give us a reason to trade our Evos for a 011GTs.

Best Regards,
Concerned EvoM member.

Haha, I haven't updated this thread, it's updated other places.

I'm busy working on the car. We've got our exhaust done for it, saves about 70 pounds. Did a battery kit for it this morning and then started trying to find weight to take out, not easy like an EVO, as a matter of fact I gave up. The sound deadener in the car is nearly non existent and what is there is the is very light.

I plan to run the car Sunday if the weather permits.

From the looks of your signature you've got an EVO9, I would trade it in to get an Mustang, maybe have both though!

After seeing your car in this thread ive been looking around town for the 2011 mustangs. Out of all of the ones ive seen, they dont compare to how this car looks. Maybe its your photo angles or something but for some reason it looks really good. I wasnt a fan of the mustangs till this one.
