You purchased the Secretary's/Hair Dressers version and the meaning of the Mustang is sorta lost. Most people would view a V6 Mustang as a loss although this new V6 is quite nice I doubt it carries the Mustang essence.

That is all we are saying.
The V6 is *exactly* what the Mustang is historically about. From the get-go, the Mustang's purpose was to be a super-affordable sports car for the masses, and that's why it's had V6 engines from the very start. The car has always been about giving great value and the new V6 exemplifies that.

I was running my mouth because it's fun. You not cool with people having a little fun? Realize my OP about the Prius (which could just as easily been a variety of tdi powered cars as well, ~50mpg) was to save at the pump and have more cash for race gas/tires/ mods. I mean who really gets to have much "fun" on their daily commute anyways?

Since we were talking about the Evo X (hence the 291HP), I'll use my own tuned car as an example. Stock, it made 218whp on a Dyno Dynamics, which of course reads much lower than a dynojet. Tuned, it jumped to 286whp. With a full turboback and retuned, it made 309whp. That's gains over stock of 68whp and 91whp. We can argue over drivetrain loss, but its still almost 70 at the wheels with nothing other than ECU controlled fueling, timing, boost, and Mivec adjustments.

The baseline numbers on all 2008 Xs I've seen on that dyno ranged in the 215-220 area, so its not like my car read low stock.

You see my statement as laughable, I see yours as inexperienced. I've seen way too many tuned Mivec equipped Evos (including IXs) and know they gain a lot more than 30whp through tuning, esp with full catless exhaust!
See, this is why this situation has never sat right with me. Going into my tune at AMS I was certain it would break 300 whp easily with the mods I had. Didn't happen. Came back here, made a thread, everyone else agreed it should have made more power, AMS posted their disagreement, I eventually got over it.

As far as I see it, there are only two solutions:
- The mods I had + a tune are really only good for 30ish whp on a Dynojet
- The tune wasn't a very good one (more likely)

I'm amazed your X picked up that much. Good for for you, seriously. I guess I'm just bitter my results weren't so extraordinary.

*raises hand* I like enjoying my drive to work.

And I have a built race car too. No mods left to do to it...just have to keep it running and track ready.

I'm curious about the ubique badging and stripes you opted not to get. Got any pics of what they are? Also, has anyone developed a forced-induction system for them yet?

The black vinyl that runs on the side of the car is what the dealer book showed. Beyond that, I have not seen a real badge.

A few shops seem to be playing with turbos and superchargers. The old 4.0l had some of the same options. I have not had a SC car. Might be tempting if one come out with good results.
