G35 Coupe 6-speed?

Hmmm, so I was bored here in Cali (imagine that) and I stopped by the local Infiniti dealer and asked about the G35 coupe. Well, long story short, I liked it A LOT, and ran some numbers by him. I seriously considering ordering a 2004 6-speed coupe in Diamond Graphite (dark silver) with black leather, no nav, aero kit, brembos, etc. I would cost me about $540/mo on lease. BTW, that lease would run me to 2007... just in time to trade it in for a new Skyline GT-R. What do you guys think? Should I take the leap (esp. since I am done modding the Evo)?

No flaming - just constructive thoughts please.

Chris

Do yourself a favor, drive the 350Z track version, if you have not already.

I drove both when I bought the Z because at that time the G35 was only availible with a automatic.

I liked the G35 alot, I liked the looks a little better and the interior is a bit more upscale. Nice car. You can't go wrong.

Cheers,

Winston

awesome, beautiful car... i'd get one, but it's a little out of my league. maybe if i were 3 years older and had a better job.

anyway, it depends if you think you want to deal with the payments. i don't know how much money you have; why not buy instead of lease?

Chris,
You gonna trade your Evo? Did they give you a quote or is that lease figure after trade in? I think the G-35 coupe is a better choice than a 350Z. That said, I guess you won't be modding a leased car. That might be a long 4 year period. I think there will be other cars you will want before then. Just my .02

I checked out the 350Z a while ago (before the Evo landed) and the interior was too damn cheesy for me. As for the performance, the Evo is my monster, the G35 would be for chilling and longer drives. As for the payments, I am not sure I would keep the G35 since I want a Skyline GT-R. If I decide to keep the G35, I could always buy out the lease. I am thinking this is going to happen...

G35 is awesome.. It was one of my short list cars before I got my Evo.. I think my Evo and mods should just about be paid off by the time the Skyline comes stateside.. Unless Chrysler comes out with something that blows my mind, the skyline would be my next purchase..

In all honesty, I'd take that 540 a month, throw it in a different account.. and let it accumulate.. then take that money and use it for a hefty down payment.

For as amazing as the G35 is, 540 a month on a lease might as well be flushing the money down the toilet. Save your money and get a beater to drive when you aren't enjoying the Evo..

see. now i don't understand why if you have a perfectly good car right now, why you would want to blow additional money on interest on a car you don't need? if you run your EVO and SAVE UP that money that you would have been paying on a g35 until 2007 when the Skylines come out, you'lll probably have enough to buy one in cash.

Disregard the money issue - it's more a question of whether to run 2 sweet cars at once. The payment would come from my Evo mod budget. The savings for the Skyline is a different deal. Let's just say it's good to be single and doing well.

I'm in the same boat.. Single with extra cash.. I have two heavily modified cars.. I still don't know that I'd want the extra lease payment. Its just nice to have the extra savings to periodically drop on a rediculously expensive toy.

Good luck on any decision you make, I'm sure ultimately you won't end up disappointed. But if your as insane as I am about cars, do you REALLY thing you would be able to resist doing the turbo upgrade to that G35?

If I do a long-term loan, I could pay less than $500/month to own it... The thing is, I know I would buy that turbo kit. Another reason to stick with the lease and then buy it out if I decided to keep it. Decisions, decisions. I like having this dilemma. Please keep up the feedback - I am still debating the idea.

Oh well, Tried being the voice of reason.. hehehe.. I'm the same way when I get a bug about a new toy.. Do what you enjoy, just remember that your mod money may not be there to do more mods now. heheh..
