I was having this same thought this weekend. I don't have quite as speedy a bike as a CBR600RR - I have a VFR800 (it's a bit of a pig, but it handles well - not unlike the Evo!).

But, even my VFR made my Evo feel a bit pokey. It's not so much the 0-60 or the 1320 (low 11s @ 120mph-ish), but the 20-60mph is blisteringly fast on even a slow bike compared to a car.

Fast in the twisities is physically and mentally exhausting on a bike, though. There's also a certian amount of "stress" one feels from being so focused - and you need to tune a lot of things out, or at least to a lower channel of your attention - things you might not consider like the increased noise, the smells, the tactile sensations from your toes to the tips of your fingers, etc.

I rode my motorcycle exclusively for almost two years here in SoCal. I don't know if I can recommend that, but I do think it's a nice AND, just not an OR.

 

I miss my AP1 dearly.


The Evo is obviously much faster, but the cockpit like feel of the interior was unreal.


Too many idiots out here to own a bike.
