Project Auto 2G DSM 8's and Street Driven

New project this year is to convert my 5 speed 1997 Talon AWD to an Auto, and go after that 8 second mark while keeping the car streetable. The car has gone 9.6@159Mph with the 5 speed, at 3250lbs. And when it comes to auto's the natural choice is the crew at English Racing, thanks to Lucas, Jeff, Arron, and Myles. I hope I can tuck into the draft behind you guys I will still be running a full sequential Spark Tech ignition system, but pretty much everything else on the car is going to be changed, and I mean everything! Going to be running Comp triple as usual on the car as it has all been an outstanding performer both in power and spool but also in durability. More to come

Video of the car going 9.6@157, and on the dyno

Congrats Ron. Good move the Autos have proven themselves in a relatively short time. Of course you also have a winning combo of vendors on your side also.

I'd suggest adding the Billet coil protectors to prevent coil breakage.

Exactly I was going to go RWD untill Jeff and the English crew got that auto awd so dialed in I couldn't resist myself This project is going to be tons of fabrication, but I think the end results are going to be something that no one else has done before Stay tuned everybody

That is a clean car, looks like it doesn't run bad either. Good luck on getting to the 8's.

So besides an all new engine, trans setup, I'm also redoing the whole chassis. Out with the 8.5 NHRA certified cage and in with the new 25.4 certified chassis. This is going to be alot of fabrication cause I'm going to do it in the car using what I can from the exsisting cage.

New Kiggly HLA to help limit the amount of oil getting pushed up to the head a common problem with these motors if turned at very high RPM.
