2600 lbs, 170 ft/lb, a 7500 rev limit, RWD and 37 MPG.
That sounds lovely!
The R version sounds even better with the Brembo's and lighter weight. I just don't like that it'll have a cage and no back seats.

^ The first link you clicked on with those specs says 1200 kg (which I'm guessing is where you got the 2600 lb curb weight figure from), but the second link says it's 1280 kg, which puts it at more like 2800.

Production Toyota FT-86 leaks
Are these pictures of the production spec Toyota FT-86? Leaked brochure images appear to show new rear-drive Celica
The production-spec Toyota FT-86 coupe appears to have leaked. Pictures of its exterior and interior have appeared online, having seemingly been snapped from a brochure of Toyota’s Modellista parts department.
The pictures show a car that’s broadly the same as the FT-86 and FT-86 II concepts that have been seen at recent motor shows. Changes appear to have taken place at the rear, with thin, Lexus LFA-style light clusters being replaced by less distinctive units. The rear diffuser looks less dramatic, while there’s an absence of the most recent concept’s bootlid spoiler.
The wheels and some of the detailing on the leaked pictures could change come production time; being from a parts catalogue, it’s likely the white car you see here isn’t 100 per cent standard.
Inside, there’s a nicely stubby gearstick, which might suggest a lovely short-throw gearchange for what we expect to be a six-speed manual transmission, though less excitingly the black trimmed gear knob sits beside the tell-tale ‘P-R-N-D’ gait of an automatic. Fingers crossed this is an option, or not for the European market, as the FT-86’s modestly powered front-engine/rear-drive purity is very appealing, and any sideways antics akin to its Corolla AE86 ancestor will be best suited to a stick-shift.
Toyota hasn’t commented on the images, and the FT-86’s long gestation period continues. Should these be leaked images of the showroom-ready car, here’s hoping it nudges Toyota and Subaru to finally reveal their budget rear-drive coupes in finished form. We can’t wait to try them.

^ With it talking about another transmission... any idea if it's going to be a regular auto or something like the sequential manual (like what the MR-2 had) or a dual clutch? I'd assume they'd keep a six-speed in that scenario also for maximum mpg.

Official FR-S, FT-86, BRZ specs are revealed!
Toyota can't keep a lid on anything leading up to this car's reveal apparently.
Official specs were posted this morning at http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2096
This car will get 200hp, 151 lb-ft torque, and weigh only 25xx pounds dry.

terps,
why are constantly creating new threads on this car? You never even comment on any evo related threads. What are you doing here? I'm starting to think you're a bot or in toyota's marketing department. Why not just keep one thread on the car going?
The 2003 evo had better power to weight than this weeny car. That's not everything, sure, but this is an evo forum, we like speed. /rant

The red car - pictures of which leaked a few days after the first images - is likely to be the production FT-86 in standard showroom trim.
