If cross drilled rotors are bad how come high end cars have them

the fact that high end rotors are cast with holes in them is a rumor someone started long ago and now everyone thinks its fact. all "cross drilled" rotors are drilled.
rotors cracking is normal, its part of rotor wear. the main reason people (people that know, not regurgitating what they read somewhere else) advise against drilled rotors for track use is cause they crack/wear out faster. another reason is less surface area. old pads used to give off gasses under aggressive use, the original reason drilled rotors were invented was to provide a place for these gasses to go. but modern pads dont, so there is no reason for drilled rotors.

the again, sometimes stuff like this happens (note the microcracking around all the holes)
