Other cars in the 600hp Club

Since dyno'ing at 613hp a few weeks ago, it got me wondering what factory cars claim 600hp from the assembly line. Granted, these cars are much more reliable than my car and whatnot and feature more technology and appeal, but still, it is exciting to know my little Evo can claim, at the wheels, what these cars claim and as my car sits, should run comparable if not better 1/4 mile times. From Car and Driver's 600hp club, here's a sampling of the territory some of our cars are in (for those also in the 600hp club on here)...

Dodge Viper SRT10 (not the new one)
600 hp
$91,935
0–60 mph: 3.5 sec
¼-mile: 11.6 sec @ 126 mph

Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
632 hp
$362,395
0–60 mph: 3.2 sec
¼-mile: 11.5 sec @ 125 mph

Ferrari 599GTO
661 hp
$450,000 (est)
0–60 mph: 3.1 sec (est)
¼-mile: 11.0 sec @ 135 mph (est)

Bentley Continental Supersports
621 hp
$272,195
0–60 mph: 3.6 sec
¼-mile: 12.0 sec @ 118 mph

The 2015 Z06 on a Mustang(1100) dyno puts down 572hp and around 590tq and the Hellcat was around 669. HellCat Starts at $78K and Z06 at $98k (likely more with markup)

Also all man HP claims are to the crank so you are more then likely looking at cars with 650 or more from the factory.

I've yet to a hellcat run but I know the biggest knock on the challenger is the heft. Thats why the SRT-8 was slow. I would take that 669 with a grain of salt.

Also the other super cars you mentioned are gear for more topend so you better get out of the hole fast because some of the newer ones will reel you in.

I don;t street race but thats what my arm chair racing knowledge tells me. I can't get anyone to run me around here, its like they know. lol. I'm too old to be getting locked up for speeding and NC does not play with speeders. Treats them worse then murders.

Yeah for sure those reported numbers are not from the wheels. And you're definitely correct, I'm not going to win a 1 mile race with a Ferrari or Lambo. I just have to get to the next stop light faster than them

The few i ran across in Atlanta NEVER wanted to run. The one porsche that decided to try his luck got so embarassed he followed me to the next ext and begged me to let him know what i had. I honestly didnt think he was trying to keep up but he said he had the gas pedal through the floor board. I had mine at half/ 3/4 throttle.

Made it sweeter he whispered he borrowed the car from work to impress the girl he was with and I just made him look like a punk. I apologized. Told him to be careful around evo's......some of them are stupid fast.

I'm in this weird inbetweener area. The really fast cars don;t think I'm worth their time and the slow cars just want to see how bad I'll light them up (although there is the odd Slow Honda/240 owner that swears up and down they will beat me with the weight difference).
