i drive a car that can compete with the evo..but i STILL miss my type R

i bet if u raced a "crappy car" vs my old "crappy car" i would show you who's a crappy driver
i guess you didn't like my crappy car comment i'm sorry you own one

Damn I miss that car! The Evo is faster, but I think I loved that car more. The Evo completes business better, but the R just seemed a part of you... and that glorious sound!
I also tried keeping the Type R after I bought the EVO (4 months). But the 1300 in payments for me were way too much.

Gotta love evo81. He's our own little import redneck. Probably has one of those peeing on the "H" stickers on his car.

i cant believe how many type R owners there are...i know that car isnt as fast as my car im driving right now, or the evo, but its such a damn nice car, and it takes a lot of skill, at high speeds theres a some understeer dialed in of course, (FF) i seriously think i can take evo81 on a track if we both drove ITR's

i still would keep my type R over an evo. after it was stolen the firs time, i got the OEM honda JDM front end, and all sorts of other crap. its a shame it got stolen again, it was a 2000 phoenix yellow, bought the first month they came out, with only 25000 miles in 03 when it was stolen again, gift wrapped with $7000 worth of mods...

evo81...nah i didnt like ur crappy car comment, and i dont own it anymore unfortunately...hahahaha i suppose u think "3 series" Bimmers are crappy slow cars too huh, hahahahhaa

...the more I think about it, the more I miss that damn R.

It's like the little Martial Artists I fight in tourniments... I'd always beat their asses with heavy hands, but they just looked better doing it... grace and pois vs. direct, brutal power. You can't compare the Evo to the spirit of the R, unless you have experienced (lived with) them both.

I wanted one too but Riverside Acura wanted to rape me.29,000 for the R(back in dec.00)It was the yellow one. I was gonna trade my eclipse spyder and put down 5 g's. They let me test drive it and all. AWESOME car. they wanted to put me in a lease at 515 a month for 66 months. WTF were they thinkin. Those a-holes would not budge from those numbers. Ill never deal with them EVER. Anyways I LOVE my Evo now

Depends on your definition of "race".

If you meant straight-line, the ITR probably has no chance.

If you meant "street racing", I believe the bigger ***** win here.

If you meant road course/track, then it becomes interesting

I have "raced" many DC5s before at a proper road course. Those suckers are fast. Good drivers piloting the DC5s can clock 2m44s to 2m48s easily (albeit the lower range has I believe some suspension mods and semi-slick tires, but definitely no "wild" power mods).

Some Evo 8s I know are in the 2m50s range, these are the relative beginners.

FWIW my TOTALLY STOCK Evo can only manage 2m44s; BARELY holding off the DC5s, BARELY able to overtake them as well.

So moral of story: on the track, much depends on the skill of the driver when trying to guess an Evo vs ITR battle.

Oh yeah I used to drive DC2 in the US Unbelievable car. It needs 80-100bhp more and RWD or AWD though.

im telling you, ITRs pack a punch, best handling FF car ever made
plus i just read somewhere that the RX8 actually beats my E46 ///M3, slower cars with good balance can outclass HP monsters

Best handling FF car in the world? I thought that title belonged to the Ford Focus RS.

the RS is AWD, the Type is may very well be the best FF handler in the world.

The Focus RS is FF. The RS Cosworth is AWD.
