88-91 RX7 or 90 240 SX which one is a better drift car?
I am thinking about getting a drift car. Which one is better between 88-91' RX7 or 90' 240 SX? any concern that i should look for? ie, problem with engin and/or tranny. which is better to invest money in (put more after market in)? thank for all the comment.

the Nissan has always been regocnized as the better drift car, but I dont see why the RX7 wouldnt work either. The Mazda rotary has a troubled past. Have a trusted mechanic take a look at it, the apex seals are the weak point. I would say dead stock, the RX7 turbo has more pontential. The Nissan KA24DE has some aftermarket following, but after swapping in a SR20DET, I would take the Nissan. But I am partial to turbo 2 liter DOHC engines.

The RX7 is definitely gonna cost more to maintain, but IMO, compared to the S13 240sx, I think it'll be worth it. First off, you won't look like every other up-and-coming drift kid. You might also need less work to make it capable to drift (the KA24E found in the '90 240 was paltry in terms of power and it'll make any worthy swap harder then with '91-on models). And, even though this is subjective, I think the FC RX-7 is a much better looker than the S13 240, especially with the 180sx nose.
Either way, you're gonna wanna take a careful look at the car before you buy. You're lookin at 15 year old cars. And if you decide you'd want to mod the RX7, make sure you pay attention to the fuel delivery too. Your engine will thank you.
