Well I hate to bother you with my attempt to be as informed as I can be on a choice that I will be making in a year!!!!!! I know that things will change and I know I might change, But at least I am not some idiot who just one day run to a car dealer and says "I want a fast car, what you got" or something stupid like that. I'll know that pros and cons ahead of time and what I want and what I will need to do to get it.

How long did you research the Evo, and/or other cars, before you knew you were going to get one??? Is it so wrong to look at cars before you buy??? Or would you rather I just walk around and say "Hey that looks cool I'll get it."? I think at least 95% of the people on this site would applaud my efforts to make a good use of my money and opportuity to own a car.

I would wait a year just because you don't know what the new MY will bring, or what will be on the horizon when you're ready to buy. That and I really hate polls.

i would get a more retro track car such as the evo, and if people are right, look at the new GT-R and that new mk5 people are talking about. Even though rx8s look sick, g35s/350z looks awesome, i would still go with a classical car.

STi and Evo will totally OWN all the rest of the competition you have listed there. RX-8 has no torque SRT-4 is an entry level sports car thats good for the money but can't keep up the G35 is a luxury car not a sports car 350Z is not a bad ride but takes a lot of money to make it fast enough to hang with the Evo and STi

I voted for the STi just because Mitsu is so aweful to deal with and the 05 STi is really a very nice car quicker than the Evo and just about as fast as the MR.

First off, you have to weight what quality in a car is important to you. Great performance is nice but is it EVERYTHING you need in a car? You might want to be specific to what you want/need and that would surely help in your quest for a new car...

Cheers.

I'd say evo, and thats why I bought one.
Other than that, I would have to go with the G35 coupe. They look far better than the 350Z, and they perform about the same. Watch out if you want to mod them though. 350Z's and G35's can be modded to be really fast, but it is expensive; I've heard of guys having to spend $10K to get a turbo set up that works well. Once they do though, they can keep up with the 03 cobras, but then thats only in the straights, and they still won't handle as well as the Evo will.

Dude you left out the 4-speed pinto, i hear they are making a HUGE comeback.. i was going to pick one up but i can not decide between that and a gremlin ><

SRT-4 = Dodge = Trash
RX 8 = ugly
G35 = Ehhhhh

Go with a STI or a EVO thats my vote.....
