In all honesty, stick with the theme of this forum. Why did you post here? So we can all convince you to purchase a Lancer Evolution. The Evolution gets my vote. Seems like the majority of this thread say the same thing.

Who in this forum owns an STi / has test driven one and can offer an unbiased opinion of the car? I'm going to drive them both before I make my final decision, but I think I'm leaning towards the Evo MR right now based on looks, easier modification, and a nice rating from Car and Driver in comparison to the STi.

Is insurance a factor in the decision? I'm not sure what the difference would be between the cars, but I would do some research on that. You may find a huge difference in the monthly insurance premiums between these cars.

For me:

Evo & Sti - best all around cars
SRT-4 - great cheap speed, but that seems to be about it (oh yeah, it's a neon)
G35 - a luxury car that doesn't seem to fit in with the other cars you're looking at, but that doesn't mean it's not a great car
RX8 - looks real nice and sporty, but from everything thing I've heard about this car it seems to be that the engine doesn't live up to the look and will probably disappoint you

I don't know what kind of response you're hoping to get on an EVO forum. Obviously a majority of the people are going to say Evo. But no joke, it is the best out of all the one's you have posted. RX8 is slick but too slow stock, G35 (unless you get the coupe) has no sportiness just luxury, SrT is just stupid (enough said), and lastly the Sti should be the only one you're debating on instead of an Evo. You should test drive them both and see which one you like better. I as well as many other people on this forum went with the EVO. It's for you to decide, depends what you want.

Sounds like your parents will be buying you one of these cars, and you sound really young. You should stay away from all of these cars, and tell your parents to buy you a corolla S model. Nice sporty relaible, and it will keep you safe. Evo's are a serious car, and for youngsters can get you in alot of trouble. For your list if its a must get the RX-8 its the more tamed beast. To ask that question on a Evo forum is

You could get 2 used srt4s for the price of a g35... It would all depend on how much money you wanted to spend... I wanted a rx8 for the longest time and did quite a bit of research on them. They get horrible gas mileage and are not very fast. I would say get the evo. You wont be disapointed as long as you know what kind of car it is. Essentially a rally car for the road, rough ride but fast as hell...

I just hate these kind of threads..that's all. But seriously, go with what you can afford and cannot stop thinking about. For me, it's the Evo, but not in a good financial situation right now, so those plans are on hold...for now.
