750? Not quite, but 600HP. The scoop is Cadillac currently has plans for a CTS Super-V as has been spied making laps around Nurburgring. Functional hood scoop indicates that the beast is supercharged. The hood and fenders appear to be carbon fiber as well. Expected price is no less than $65,000, and there'd only be a run of a very limited 500 vehicles.

They are going to bring the CTS-V with the LS2 engine out and some other enhancements. But I believe the M6 has been set as the same vehicle as the M5 with 2-doors, same engine etc.

And for those that don't know, the new 7 series is the LEAST reliable car available (and don't expect the super-computer M5 to be far off). Far worse than any car out there due to all the new electronics. Mercedes quality ratings have also plummeted, and Mercedes engineers are currently removing up to 60% of non-necessary electronics on some models. I would give you guys the article but you need a subscription to automotive news.

I think I would rather buy something smaller and lighter with a real 6-speed gearbox (if I had 100K to spend).

Nothing surprizing, BMW is using Microsoft software
That video from Radzio just shows how ugly this car really is, in the pictures it actually looks better, probably because they're taken from a certain angle.
BMW has really gone downhill design wise.

I'm still in awe of the new twin-turbo V12 AMG 65's (S, SL, and CL). Those cars are just insane. Anything with 615hp and 735ft/lbs!!!!!!! is cool in my book. I was reading my new issue of 'EVO' the other night. They were saying at one time, when they were blasting down some section of road, the TC light flickered a couple times.......AT 125 MPH IN THE DRY!!!!! That is just nutty ammounts of grunt. They were driving one that MB had 'de-limited' Which actually just means they bumped it up from the normal 155 to 186 (300kmh). They hit that like a brick hitting the wall. Over 200 in those cars seems to be a piece of cake. They also tested the car from 155 - 186 (old limit to new limit). It only took 17 sec to get there!!!!! I'm sorry for blabbing, but these cars are amazing, and just simply nutty at the same time. I LOVE IT!!

7 forward speeds and very fast shifts - I imagine 155 will happen in 5th. Subtract the time it takes to manually shift 4 times and having shorter (and closer) gears, and it'd be pretty feasible to get to 155 in 15 seconds - with a good launch of course.

Yea, you know, the more I started thinking about this, its kind of a mind boggler. I was flipping though my new 'Evo' mag and they were doing the 'Fast Club 2004' with many of the fastest cars available. They only tested them up to 140 for the acceleration runs, but the fastest ones to get there was the Lambo Gallardo at 19.2sec, with the GT3-RS right behind at 19.6sec. The 1/4 times were just a fraction slow, so conditions might not have been ideal, but you see what I'm saying. Even a 500hp Gallardo took 19secs to get to 140, and its fairly light and has AWD to help with a launch. So, who knows. But theres a little food for thought.

Hmm. Maybe BMW tested the car on a big hill.

I found some data.

Lambo Diablo SE 5.7 - 0-150 in 18.5 seconds, 1/4 12.12@124.
McLaren F1 - 0-150 in 12.8 seconds, 1/4 11.6 @ 125.
Ferrari Enzo - 0-150 in 13.1 seconds, 1/4 11.1 @ 138

These cars all have a considerable power:weight advantage. Not sure what gains BMW would be making to get a 2 ton car to 155 in such a quick manner.

HA HA, yea. The main thing I keep thinking is, who really cares. I mean, #'s are just that, just #'s. With any great car, its not about the #'s it puts down, be it horsepower, 1/4 times, top speed. Its all about how fun the car is to drive. A friend of mine has a mildly tuned JCW Cooper S. Its not super fast by any means, but I can't say I've had much more fun behind the wheel of a car than when I drove that thing a few times. Great performance cars are just fun to drive, who cares about the #'s. And, BMW M cars are no different. They know how to make cars that just scream 'DRIVE ME' and you love it when you do.

Yea, I got to drive a '00 M5 one time, and it was a very short 15 min drive. But, hot damn was it a good time. That car just had it all in my book. Good looks, nice interior, good space inside, great power, awesome engine note. Had it all. And this new M5 is just like that, but better in every aspect. I, personally, love the new 5-series look. With the M style body mods, its even better. And, the few videos I've seen show just how awesome this new V10 sounds. I love it. And the power should be just great. I can't wait to see one of these beasts in person.

Welllll the V-10 engine is apparently F1 inspired....perhaps the maniacs over in Germany have finally lost it and possibly figured out a way to project the car that fast. I agree it sounds like a typo, but what if it was accurate....holy $#%^.

On a side know about the CTS-V....they are going to have to do some work with oil cooling before they screw with the engine anymore....I was running at Putnam park with one and had serious oil cooling problems....my guess would be that is had something to do with the bling bling grills it has....with tiny little holes to let air through. It wasn;t even that hot out..early spring. I think the number they got back on the oil temp was something like 380 deg. oooo mama...
