Angry Real Bad Performance for 91 VR4

We just got a GTech the other and tonight we went out to try it in our 1991 VR4. We found a piece of road where we could get to 100 ok and set up the GTech so it read 0, the only problem was the first part of the road was slightly uphil nothing much only 25 meters or so on a slight slope. There was 2 of us in the car. We take off with around 3000rpm and slip the clutch a bit and then accelerate flat to 100km/h. GTech time 8.83 ! I'm like, no way the standard VR4, as tested by all the car magazines, takes 7.1sec! Ours has got 3" turbo back exhuast, K&N air filter and flowed turbo (meaning the 32mm restricter was machined out to 50mm) ao we would at least expect the stock time. So what do you guys think? Is our vr4 running down on power or is the GTech wrong?
Oh and while I'm here, we just put on 205/60 tyres on 15inch wheels, up from 195/60 on same wheels. I want to know if the new tyres are any higher? I thought the profile was a percentage of the width - so 205 * 0.6 = 123 ORIGINALLY 195 * 0.6 = 117 so our new tyres are 6mm higher? Will this affect the speedo or handling much?
Thanks - a very disapointed Aston

I assume you are talking about a Galant VR-4. Needless to say you probably have something wrong with the car.

Yeah, I am talking about the galant VR-4. So if the car has problems then here is the hard bit, the car is dads and while he thought the times were slow he balmed it on the GTech. So how do I tell dad that the car is slow and we need to get it dyno tested or something? He really likes the car and thinks it's fast, which it should be, so I don't want to just say it's slow , any ideas?
Thanks - Aston

How many times did you run the Gtech? Just once? If you roll at all those things can become way off. Does the car feel like its pulling hard?
Maybe you need to take it to a track to get an accurate time.
Did you get stumbling/hesistation, or fuel cut, or any other symptom of something being wrong?

It felt like it was pulling ok, started hard but pulled less at higher rpm still a Slight push in the back though. I see you have a VR-4, how did it pull when it was standard? Only ran it once, well twice but the first time the Gtech thought we were doing the 1/4 so it didn't give a 0-100 time. Maybe it is time for a track run, I think they are held near here fairly often. No fuel cut and didn't notice and stumbling during the run, although it does stumbling when accelerating from low revs in second, like after you have slowed down then reaccalerate.
I'll see about getting to a track day and dyno.
Thanks again - Aston
