BMW 318i fuse issues!

hey guys, my little sister has a 94 318i that my parents bought from one of my dad's co-workers. It runs really well. It has 200,000 miles on it (guy lives in Santa Cruz and comutes to sunnyvale. lol) but it was babied and still runs great. Lately, we've been having fuse issues. The fuse that controls the electronic locks on the doors/ starter (i guess) keeps blowing. It had a 5A fuse (that I had replaced) and then I had to go rescue my mom (who was driving it; the car wouldn't start) and the same fuse was blown. I replaced it with a 7.5A fuse to get her home, and the fuse was blown again when she got home 5 minutes later.

What should I do? use a diff fuse? Check to see if the battery is pushing too much power?

Thanks guys!

It seems like there's too much current draw/ short somewhere. What exactly does this fuse controls?

try to narrow down exactly what action causes the fuse to blow, for example when you lock or unlock the left door, right door, or when you start? don't forget to first replace the fuse with its original amp. rating. once it blows after you unlock the door, then it just shows that the short lies along the locking device.
