The new 350 hp GTO or the Mistu Evo?

I was wondering which of these cars would win in the quarter mile and also after the quarter mile up to the higher speeds and top end? Also if anyone knows how the GTO handles to mods compared to the evo. Thx for the help

If your curious about its performance potential, do a search on the Holden Monaro, and Holden Commodore.. these cars are basically where the GTO originated from..

It wasn't originally intended for the american market, so next year you should see more goodies like more displacement and power (as said earlier)

I was REALLY digging the GTO in the pictures.. when I did finally see one up close and in real life.. It ended up reminding me of the Chevy Cavalier.. which sort of turned me off.

I have played ina red one and a black one.
didn't really remind me at all of a cavalier, more of a 99-00 monte carlo than anything.
the red looked horrid from a distance (and not to good up close)
and the black made me drool

I'd still rather have a CTS-V to 'play' with.

hardly a fair comparison since it's $52k-55k and the GTO is only $33k.

but the GTO isn't *worth* $33k. at all. 3700lb!

show me where that extra money is justified over a 2002 LS1 Camaro? yes, I know you could've optioned the SS to $33k... but the point is that you don't get a lot for your money with the GTO.

Check out HSV GTO, which is Holden's performance arm. They look sick.

Are you nuts? Motor Trend managed 13.6 @ 104.8mph.

The GTO's main problem right now is the tires -- or lack of them. 245mm width mediocre performance tires do not belong on ANYTHING powered by a Corvette engine. Take the 400HP GTO, run an 1/8th tank of gas, pull all the junk out of the trunk, and shod on some Hoosier's around 285 in the back and I think you'll either break into the high-12's or come damn close.

I like the GTO, but I like the Evo more. I was playing around with one the other day it was fast, but not as fast as my Evo. Then again I'm far from stock. Top end it would kill the Evo unless you have a bigger turbo.

I'm guessing you'd need a turbo the size of Texas?

I love the Evo (I have an MR coming in 7 weeks, likely), but a heavily modified Corvette engine is the engine for GOD. I'm sorry. For fairly reasonable money you can send it down to Johnny L @ LPE and come back with a 650HP monster with a warranty slapped on it.

You want more? They'll give you more. There's a fair number of Monaro's out there pushing over 1,000HP. There's even one that's managed to break 2000HP, has a full interior and all the junk in the trunk, and is streetable.

I doubt it'll do 12's.
GTO has a power to weight ratio of around ..........9.2
Older C5 Vette's with 350hp has ..........................9.1 and could not hit 12's stock

I guessing 13.1- 13.3 @ 108-110

Still no threat to a modded Evo
