Wow. This is really the first conversion I've seen in the 3 years I've been on these boards. (Yes I said 3 years b/c before this site the board was known as lancerforums.com) I've heard people talk and talk about doing it or how it can't be done but that thing is just sick! I want to do that now. He has most of his specs and notes up on the site so you just have to go find the parts and put some man hours into the project if you want to do one yourself. That would be awesome! Good find!

This guy has an impressive kill list. I was very excited to see AWD conversion as I never seen anything like it before. I give the guy props for his Shadetree mechanic skills.

After looking at the photos, he did it exactly as I would, the tunnel had adequate room for the driveshaft and components, and it looks as if he salvaged the driveline from a GSX (the rear cradle for the suspension looked OE.. He basically cut out the trunk and mounted/moved the gas tank, got the rear diff assembly in, probably as one piece..
I definitely think this is pretty straightforward and certainly possible in a short time if your persistent and prepared... I've been wanting to do something like this to a Hyundai Tiburon (the new body style)
